Hello,
I've recently been experiencing a recurring bug with the context menu displayed from a right-click:
If I click on a command from this menu, the selected line does not disappear after the menu is closed, regardless of the application or right-click menu displayed. For example, I have a blue rectangle with "new tab" written on it that "hovers" above this internet page and on the screen in general, regardless of what is displayed. Note that this bug only occurs once in a row, and if I close the lid of my laptop and open it again, refreshing the display makes the bug disappear... which will reappear at the first right-click.
Thank you in advance

Personally, I had the same problem and I found a "solution":
Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools
(If you can't find the menu, start typing it in the search bar at the top right and then click on it)
Now, on the new page that appears, click the "Refresh now" button on the right side just above the score (base index)
Once clicked, the analysis begins. And at the very first "flicker" (or flashing or "refresh" of the screen - turned off and then on-) the floating menu disappears.
You don't need to continue the analysis, you can now cancel it.
Don't worry, even if during the analysis your menu/wallpaper settings disappeared, everything returns to normal afterwards ;-)
I hope this will help some people :-)

Same problem here, which I think is due to a permanent sleep mode rather than a shutdown of the PC.
Resolved by going into the visual effects, but for my part, I disabled "Hide menu items after a click."

Same here. I have the problem on my DELL INSPIRON laptop running Windows Vista. It's very unpleasant!
But I found a workaround on my computer: you just need to click on the icon in the bottom right "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile." However, the problem comes back regularly...
I haven't found a solution to completely get rid of this issue. Apparently, it's not a graphics card problem since we all have a different card. I think it's an issue related to Windows.

I might have a lead; the driver for my Logitech mouse. When I close the software in the taskbar, it seems to work normally again. I just noticed that, so I need to test it over time.
Haha!!!!, yes thanks for the tip, once the logithèque software (smiles) is closed, the bug disappears.
Well obviously, the special settings assigned for the special buttons on the mouse also disappear.
Close the icon (green on your keyboard mouse setpoint) and that’s it.
I will reinstall their software to see if this bug is fixed in a more recent version.

To solve this problem, in my case, I had to uncheck "Make menu items disappear after a click" in Performance Options.
I arrived at this result by eliminating options in reverse order. Let me explain, I unchecked everything, then I rechecked one option and did a right-click test, and if the problem didn’t reappear, I activated a new option.
And so on, and the result was conclusive because I was able to isolate the service that was causing the bug...

Same here, I have this bug after a few days without rebooting. If I reboot, it disappears for quite a while.
I used to have an ATI card and now I have a NVIDIA. In both cases, I have this bug. So apparently it doesn't come from the card or the drivers.

For my part, the context menu on right-click had a "flickering" bug. In fact, only the shadow of the window remained. I followed R1D2's method:
For Windows 7:
Control Panel (choose "show all control panels")
Performance Information and Tools
Adjust visual effects (in the left sidebar)
and I disabled the shadow under windows... and it works.
For your information: win7 64bit, Nvidia GTI 550Ti.

Hi, same for me on Windows 7 with an "Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset" graphics card. Indeed, to make the line disappear, one can just open the graphic properties with the icon in the systray "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator". In the meantime, waiting for a more permanent solution... Have a good day to everyone who has the problem :)
I finally found a solution. It's valid for Windows 7 and probably for others too: You need to disable an option in the Windows appearance.
For Windows 7:
Control Panel (select "View all control panel items")
Performance Information and Tools
Adjust visual effects (in the left panel)
Whoever this may help, send me a chocolate cake; I feel like chocolate tonight. If you read this message later, too bad for the cake :D

I've been experiencing this bug for 2 days too
when I launch the CCC (Catalyst Control Center) it disappears
could it be related to the Graphics Card?
I have an ATI HD4850, how about you?

sorry for the double post, I specify that this bug is obviously added to the frequent disconnections and software crashes....

Word... since yesterday, after right-clicking, the select tab remains displayed. I have to close my laptop to make this bug disappear.
However, I can't say what my graphics card is...

I have the same problem as you with a NVIDIA GTS 250 graphics card in a tower running Windows 7 ^^ I think it's because I haven't turned it off for over 36 hours.
As soon as the resolution changes, the bug disappears..
