Hello, my problem comes from the space bar which is stuck, I can't space my words when I want to type a text document, and I have a blocking escape, thank you for your help, Eric.

Good evening,
I’ve experienced this problem before! :-)
First of all, a bit of maintenance...
Using a screwdriver, gently lift the bar (with a lever motion) to extract it. Check if the metal rod is not bent at the ends, and if it is properly inserted into its slots. Take the opportunity to do a little cleaning where the bar is located. At the bottom of the central slide, check that a plastic "nipple" is present and correctly in place. (It has a conductive part at its base and acts as a "push-button").
And now, check if this "nipple" works: when it’s properly in place, press down on it using a pencil or a small flat screwdriver (be careful not to damage the "nipple"). Normally, a "space" should appear. If it works, put the bar back in, ensuring to properly insert the ends of the rod into their slots and the slides into their guides.
If it still doesn't work, keep us posted or buy yourself a new keyboard! :o)
In the meantime, you can display a space by pressing ALT + 32
Good luck and @+

Replacement solution while waiting:
ASCII coding.. For the character <space>, it's alt +32..
Best regards and @+

It's true, Mr. Foobar... :-))
But he has a real alternative (waiting) and that's nice, after all...
Unlike the copy-paste of the character <space> :-)))
Best regards and @+
Who goes slow goes safe..who goes safe goes further and higher

Good evening everyone
Hooray, yes of course it is possible to copy and paste the character <space> using the mouse by selecting it from a message for example!
...or by copying it from the Character Map ;-)
...or even by using a virtual keyboard:

Regarding the initial problem, if you indeed found nothing suspicious during the manipulation, it could be a software issue. As ptitemarie suggests, do a scan to see...

Good luck and see you!

I managed to get the spacebar and the keys working by disassembling them; unfortunately, for the "shift" key (left), I can't seem to put it back together! What do you advise? Should I go see a repair technician? (keyboard replacement: 100 euros) My laptop is 4 years old, Samsung: rc 730: 700 euros (I couldn't even find a battery!) Should I buy another of the same type (I'm 76 years old). The keyboard problem occurred suddenly (probably a mishandling!)
What is a good laptop for a septuagenarian who spends hours writing, not too expensive... with a large screen, and easy to handle, I know how to reset it! The downside is switching to Windows 8!
Thank you

Hello everyone
From my side, alt32 works well in this forum. So it can be an alternative.
Better late than never!!!

Oh, but I don't doubt your good advice, my dear friend!!

It's true that it's a good solution for now!

Hello and thank you all for your replies regarding my keyboard issue. I bought a Microsoft keyboard and everything is in order now.
Thanks to the forum, see you!

Hello...
I have the same problem. While looking for a solution on Google, I ended up here.
I found a solution...press the FN and space keys simultaneously.
It works for the other keys that aren't functioning (for me, the é).
There you go...while waiting to find out where it comes from ;)

The space bar doesn't work anymore, but neither does the é, the &, the ", the ', the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
To be able to use them, I have to press the FN key just before.
It's very tiring otherwise here's what I get.
And I would especially like to be able to communicate with my daughter who lives abroad
Can you help me?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L770/L775
A big thank you in advance

I have followed your presentation closely and I commend its precision
I cleaned everything and tested the button, which was working
I think it was the bar that had come loose from the two distal ends
Currently, it works very well (see the text I just typed and that is intended for you)
Thanks a thousand times
As for changing the keyboard... (as suggested by one of your colleagues)... a bit difficult since it is a laptop!
