Space bar not working on Mac

Good evening
during text entry, the space bar is no longer functioning
to create space, I have to press "shift+space"
what should I do to restore the functionality of the space bar?

    Hello,

    Have you checked in “System Preferences—Keyboard and Mouse—Keyboard Shortcuts” that the <espace> key has not been assigned to something else?

    Check that VoiceOver is not enabled by specifying Space as the playback key...

    I would say that your keyboard is dirty. Try removing the spacebar and giving it a good vacuuming

    or maybe it's given up the ghost... unless someone else has a software explanation?

      I think it's a typing issue because the space is no longer activated by the space bar or by shift alone, but by combining the two "shift+space"

      I really think it's a contact problem,
      but it doesn't hurt to fix the permissions, it can't do any harm.
      Did this problem appear AFTER installing certain software or did it happen suddenly, for no reason?

      I don't remember; it's been a long time since I've been suffering from this problem, but if the space bar no longer makes contact, how is it interacting with the shift key?

      Good evening
      I am connected through a PC now, and my MAC has just gone into sleep mode; just by pressing the space bar it allows me to wake it up.
      And I always reactivate it by the space bar!!!

      have you tried another keyboard?
      if you're on a PC, does it have a USB keyboard?
