Hello,
I would like to restore my PC from a Ghost image that a friend made shortly after purchasing my computer. However, I have no idea how to do it...
I've tried searching but the tutorials contradict each other, and there are so many versions of Ghost!!
If someone has a good tutorial, with the appropriate version to download please... that would be great. Or some advice directly on this topic.
Thanks in advance

It's simple:
Ghost is already paid, so you will need to purchase it in principle.
Then you start it up and you have an interface with a menu where you choose your Ghost image after selecting the right menu option.
In your case, it would be
Image to disk or image to partition depending on how the image was saved. :)

I suppose this evaluation version is something to install on Windows. Personally, I don't recommend doing that. What you need is the boot disk, not to install some junk. :)
Let me tell you, in practice, many IT professionals are only interested in the boot disk to make their backups/restores and don't install the rest (unless they've decided to have an image server, in which case you have no choice, but even then it's a specific version of Ghost, and today with a bit of adventurous spirit, you can try the DRBL server of CloneZilla if you need to make backups from a network.)
So, don't dirty your system by installing that (unless it allows you to create a boot disk, then you can wipe all that out).

Too late, it's installed... and it doesn't help me, I can't use my GHO file with this software. How could I create this boot CD?
Yes, I suspected you would install it right away. But just in case, I posted anyway. You cannot restore your images from Windows for the simple reason that Windows doesn't allow software to do whatever it wants with the hardware and therefore it won't let itself be overwritten.
You really need to boot from a ghost boot disk. :)
I've never created one so I can't really help you. xD
Do you have a floppy disk drive on your machine?

Now, in the immediate term, you need Ghost to restore your image at least once. You might find it on a utility CD like Hiren's Boot CD or something similar.
