Hello,
I bought a 2-wire integral video intercom that has already been exchanged by the store, and I have the same problem where everything works
- camera
- electric gate opening
- intercom listening
only the doorbell does not work, even though it is a 2-wire "integral" system, so if there were an issue with my installation, nothing would work. This device is an Extel 252bis - the device is about 6 to 8 meters away from the street panel, and previously we had a video intercom that worked normally, but after 5 years we had to change it
Can someone help me???
Thanks

It's not the ringtone setting issue because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and then if I cut the power and restore it, the ringtone starts working somewhat again, and then nothing! That's why I can't explain the problem, especially since, as I mentioned above, everything else works. Could it be a bad connection inside the street panel?
Hello
After installing the intercom wevp255Ebis, I tested its functionality: the ringtone worked normally as well as the camera and sound. Since then, there is no more ringtone, why is that and what can be done? If I believe the forum, it's a common problem but no solution is proposed. Can I hope for a response? Thank you.

Personally, for research purposes on this equipment, I opened it... well, it's scary inside :'( the electronic board (screen) is in bad shape... various deposits, fine soldering, fragile connector
I find it very unfortunate, especially since the equipment is quite interesting in terms of functionality (especially for the price)
so be careful with this soldering issue
on my side, I thought I noticed that the problem with the ringtone was coming from the quick connectors (at the back of the screen) on 6 and 7
when you open the screen, the wires coming to these connectors are oddly glued with glue (as if the designers were afraid the wires would come off :\ )
so possibly check this area: clean this glue and check the soldering in that area.

Hello, same thing, same problems after 2 exchanges at the store. The third one, the doorbell doesn't work anymore. Well, I'm left without a doorbell and have to get up to open the gate. Problems with wire #6 blue and #7 brown, but opening the device wouldn't help me at all, I'm not at all into electronics... And buying everything again and reinstalling it, I'm fed up... Mary
I'm also on my second EXTEL intercom; the first one never worked properly and I received no support from the manufacturer. I got a second one of the same brand, and after three months, I returned it to the store where, after sending it back to the manufacturer, it came back repaired. That lasted very little time, and right now it’s down again—still no ringtone. I'm going to switch brands because EXTEL is really not reliable—triple zero.
Why does the title say "Resolved" when it is not
I have a WEVP 254 for a year and this winter suddenly everything works except the doorbell.
You have to press 10 or 12 times for it to ring (which no visitor does) and the sound we hear from the intercom is "intermittent", I mean not clear.
I took everything apart (intercom and screen) and checked the connections and the double wire is fine
Everything is neat and dry.
What to do?

Hello,
I have just finished installing a similar model and I have a problem:
No image (a blue screen in its place). Only the discussion can take place.
On the other hand, the buttons located on the side of the device do not change anything (brightness and sound)
Have you ever encountered this kind of problem?
Thank you

To: motojfb / Hello,
Extel Toptel 200: same problem as you. Nothing! The hotline service is easily reachable, except on Friday afternoons... But not excessively friendly; the instructions provided are practically useless: one would need to try different ways of connecting the cables depending on the contacts obtained... It proves impossible to "extort" from them the proper theoretical way to do it, especially since the device's manual sometimes provides contradictory information depending on the sections (connecting a gate, for example) according to the English version (p.12GB, section CAUTION) or French version (p.12F, section ATTENTION)... Mentioning these substantive differences to the hotline staff only complicates matters, as the manual does not seem to be consultable by the service, and the work of the translators does not seem open to question (and perhaps no member of the hotline is capable of reading a text in English...).
I am waiting for a day without rain to attempt a few new tests.
How are you doing yourself? Thank you! Please leave a response here if applicable...

Continuation of the comment from June 22, 2011; regarding the installation of a CFI Extel Toptel 200 (audio intercom).
Equipped with a multimeter, I was able, on Friday, a dry day, to carry out some checks. It turned out that the malfunction, in fact the non-functioning of the device, was due to connection faults. I had used (the provided cable was too short to reach the street panel, too long to simply connect to the motorization box of the gate) self-stripping quick connectors (from Extel!): after four continuity checks, I found that only one connection out of the four checked was correct. It seems that self-stripping quick connectors demonstrate dubious effectiveness on minimum diameter flexible wires, but are effective on rigid wires.
Ultimately, using screw connections resolved the issue. The intercom functions of the Toptel 200 are operational, and the gate opening functions are as well; while the Toptel is powered solely by an external source (24 V DC - direct current - from the gate system).
After some tests, I found that the gate control function was ensured when the Toptel was powered by an external source (gate system) only, or an external source and batteries; this gate opening control function is not effective when the Toptel is powered solely by batteries.
My gate was previously equipped with equipment distributed by CFI as well (Cofrel model 313902 and accessory gate opening device 303010, manufactured in China at the time), and which has an heir in the Extel range (the only Extel model with a range of 500m). It was about 10 years old. The exterior box (except for its electronics, and the fact that the back is equipped with 2 cable passages instead of one) of the Toptel 200 is identical to that of the "old" Cofrel (dimensions...). This box, with relatively poor waterproofing, has always been subject to water infiltration (and possibly significant condensation phenomena). It had been installed by a professional at the same time as the gate and its mechanism. But after just a few months, and subsequently several times, problems due to water infiltration, subsequent oxidation issues, necessitated repeatedly remaking all connections. The Cofrel gate opening control had not functioned for several years. For a few weeks, the intercom functions have also ceased to work.
Furthermore, I noticed that the passage on the side (top right) of the box for an external antenna, which is not needed for the Toptel, is fitted with a rubber stopper that, poorly designed, deforms the rear flange of said box; which is likely to further compromise the already "approximate" waterproofing, the cause of which seems to be, despite the 6 screws of the front cover, a manifest lack of rigidity of the back (the rear flange mentioned above) and a "waterproofing" seal (!?!) that is extremely thin, with a diameter evidently insufficient.
In summary: CFI (Comptoir Français de L'Interphone) distributes equipment that is somewhat relatively acceptable, but poorly designed in certain aspects, and poorly "served"; one indeed wonders about the training of the technical service members who manifestly do not know what the normal appearance of the handset screen (Toptel) should be, for example, who cannot categorically inform you about the theoretical way in which the equipment must be powered according to various scenarios.
Who exactly manages this company, who determines the specifications for subcontractors, who checks for compliance, who verifies or gets the manuals and "bibles" of the hotline checked and gives the "go-ahead" ...
Conclusion: could do better, CFI may have to prove itself once again at a new examination (... if necessary, which is not too certain).

My apologies for the info on the wrong model
Here is the manual for this Wevp 252 bis: http://www.cfi-extel.com/Notices/FR/WEVP252BIS.pdf
But if it only works half the time... there is a problem with a loose connection
because on page 10, there is one cause, but it would be permanent
• No ringing - Usage - Melody selector on mute.
However, check that the selector is not between two positions....
The solution then is to contact technical support by email or phone...

It is very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room...
Especially when it's not there...!!!!

Hello, it's the same for a wepa245 bis with a door opening mechanism, no more ringing. I brought it back to Bricorama, who is asking me for the packaging because it's under warranty and to dismantle the part that is on the outside, which is really easy when everything is well installed and sealed with silicone. In short, I’M DONE! This is the second one from the same brand that does this to me. I'm just asking them to exchange the interior part with the receipt... I don't know what to do anymore, I wrote to the main office, no response...
Hello, same for me, Extel bought at Bricorama in Mozac 63, this is the second device I'm bringing back. They ask me for the packaging, which I have, but everything is siliconed, they're idiots. I've only received the internal part from them which is still not connected to this day because they gave me another reference, so no more doorbell, no more door opening. My friends call me to say "we're here, we can't get in!!!!!!!! Hats off to Extel, Mary.
Thank you for the notice, but I had it when I bought the pack. I solved my problem by returning this device to Leroy Merlin, who refunded me. I bought another one from a different brand, and everything seems to be working, as indicated on
another forum that Extel seems to have soldering issues. I solved the problem by buying a different brand.
Thank you again.
Best regards.

Hello,
I just encountered a ringing problem with a WEVP 626 E BIS from Extel.
The issue comes from the small speaker (HE 8 ohms 0.25w) located inside the monitor: bad connection.
I solved it by inserting a shim (wood + cardboard) between the casing and the speaker. Since then, everything works normally.
Best regards.

I am encountering the same problem with a WEVP 627 E BIS with this small speaker (HE 8 ohms 0.25 w) on my monitor; this speaker is glued with silicone in the designated spot in the monitor casing, so it doesn't seem to move???
I will still try to tinker around: to be continued.
Thank you nonetheless for the information, as it reassures me in my belief that the problem comes from this small speaker that also emits the ringtone.

Thank you for the address of the Extel website, but this is not the model of the device. My device is connected via a telephone line; it is the WEVP 252 BIS model, and I have checked the diagram in the manual with the reference "if problem," but this ringtone that works and doesn't work really poses a problem. It seems there may be a bad connection; there are reportedly soldering issues with this EXTEL brand!!!
Same here! I no longer have a ringtone on my Extel even though it must be less than a year old (but I bought it earlier, so I think it's out of warranty). Furthermore, if I have to dismantle the outdoor unit to return it while it's embedded in the plaster, that's more than discouraging, and I'm surprised that they require the original packaging to make the warranty claim.
I'm going to take apart the indoor unit to try the trick suggested earlier by another user and we'll see how it goes.
When I think that I bought Extel for the brand and its supposed reliability!!!!
What brand would you recommend?

After disassembly, the speaker is well connected, no apparent issues with faulty soldering, but I should have suspected it since only the ringer doesn't work while the sound from the intercom between the two units does function.
So, it's a matter of identifying the faulty component that manages the ringer!!!

Hello, I have the same video intercom as you with the same ringing issue. How did you solve your problem???????????
