Décalage sonore Movie Maker

Hello everyone!
When I record videos with my camera, once on PC the video is about 1.5 gigabytes (I think that's normal) and in order to reduce the file size and do quick edits, I run it through Windows Movie Maker, but once it's finished, from mid-video there is a sound Sync issue.
I don't see any solution since VirtualDub produces files even larger (several gigabytes) or we keep the same format and it doesn't change the problem. And moreover, if for each video I have to pass them through 36,000 programs and it takes hours to load, that's not possible.
I really hope you can help me, thanks in advance!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hey!! =)

I know I’m replying late, very late, but just in case someone stumbles upon this topic =)

Personally I had a problem of the same kind. I started editing a video (several clips from different videos with a background music). And I realized that when I started my video from the very beginning, the audio was offset, but if I clicked in the middle of the editing, there was no offset (In fact, to add the video clips I wasn’t playing the video from the start). Anyway, I tested by exporting the video: Result: an offset as well. XS

So I re-did the edit. But EVERY time to test the audio/video sync, I have to start the edit from the BEGINNING (the laziness but no choice). And there it matches when I export the video.

Of course don’t ask me why it does this: I have absolutely no idea.

    Bye !

Please, I really need some help.
The file from my camcorder is: video MPEG-2 and audio: AC3
Once exported from Movie Maker (with the audio delay) it becomes: WMV
Thank you in advance, please reply to me!

Is anyone ever going to help me? I’d like to say that I didn’t have this problem before (I think) because I just found a 19-minute video made with Movie Maker without audio sync issues.
    Just a quick reply please...

    Please, just a quick reply.
I was told I should look into the frames per second, how do I do that?
