Hello everyone.
Let me explain. It's been several months since I bought a Sony Ericsson w580i with a prepaid plan. This is actually of little importance since I wanted to put my old SIM card in it, which is part of a contract plan. Everything was working perfectly for about a month when suddenly, my phone started to display at all times: "Insert SIM Card"... Since I had only had my phone for a month, I decided to invoke my warranty and request an exchange. I called Orange's customer service, organized an exchange. However, the phone they delivered worked even worse than the previous one (some keys didn't work), then a second exchange where I received another phone that didn't work, and finally a THIRD one took place (I swear!!). Anyway, the phone they sent me was new since it was in its orange box unlike the last two. Days went by, no issues! But then, the same problem I had at the very beginning reappeared... So I thought the problem could only be with my SIM card. This afternoon, I went to get it replaced (for free) at Orange. I returned home. However, my phone still shows the same message at startup: "Insert SIM Card"... I don't think this is due to a malfunction: 2 new phones indicating the same problem? Strange, right?
For those who had the courage to read everything, thank you for trying to help me or giving me advice. I really don't know what to do anymore...!!! :S

Hello everyone,
I was looking for answers to my questions about the issues I'm currently having with my SONY Ericsson W890i and I came across your discussion.
For about a month now, I'm experiencing exactly what you described: all of a sudden, my phone emits a double *beep* in a rather deep tone and my screen says "SIM inactive"... ?%?&?*?%?&?*?%? ??????? lol
At first, I thought it was a bug in the phone, maybe it had fallen or who knows... But it keeps happening at least once every two days. Now, not only does it not recognize the SIM card, but it also shuts down, whether I'm using it or not...
It's starting to really annoy meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee LOL
Anyway, I'm going to go to my dealer to get another one, otherwise it's going to end up at the bottom of the toilet... LOL
Good luck to everyone with your various problems...
P.S.: I'm a bit disappointed with the brand after all this :(

Hello!
My SIM card has been locked and when I change the SIM card, it asks me for the SIM card unlock code and
I don't know what to do to make it work, thank you.

Hello, I have a Sony Ericsson W580I, and I’m really disappointed with it. It shows "SIM inactive" since I got it, but sometimes the network appears, just for a few minutes. Orange sent me another one and the same problem occurs. The technician told me on the phone that this phone is known for having this kind of issue and she assured me I would get one from a new series, yeah right!!!!! Plus, I’ve never seen a back cover as hard to open, it’s almost as if I might break it. I just have to call them again, but this time I want a different one.
Hello everyone
My problem is much simpler than yours, but very annoying for me: your SIM card is improperly inserted; I want to remove mine!
HOW DO WE DO THAT???

Hello, after a month of stress, 2 returns with no fault found, a new SIM card, at least €45 in communications and a few poor Virgin advisors yelled at, my problem (the same as yours!!!) is finally resolved thanks to an advisor whose daughter has the same phone: you need to insert the SIM card very deeply with the tip of a pen for it to lock! This is not mentioned in the Sony Ericsson manual! (I thought it was the battery that was blocking the card)
Well, it seems to be working! I suddenly felt very silly....
Hoping it will work for you.

Hello,
I'm explaining my problem to you. A few months ago, I bought a Sony Ericsson W395. When I receive a message that I want to keep on my memory card, I save it, but then I can't find it or know where it's stored! Some time ago, I noticed that every time I tried to save a message, a folder (12175563_GENERIC_HS) is created in "my files," and inside are files called: "dump2009..." which are impossible to open. How can I find my saved messages? What are these files on my phone? Is there a connection?
Thank you in advance, I hope you can help me.

Hello,
I also have a problem with my Sony W580i. When I turn it on, it says "configuration error, contact network operator or service center."
Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
Thanks in advance.

I had a little problem: I couldn't set a specific ringtone for a contact. How to solve it? The solution:
Go to Contacts --> Options --> More --> Default Contact --> Transfer Contact to Phone.
And there you go, after this quick manipulation, you'll be able to set specific ringtones, images, etc. for your contacts.
I hope this has been helpful to you :)

For the Sony Ericsson S500i, I couldn't turn it on, so I threw it away. It opened up, I put everything back in place (battery, SIM card, etc...) and now it works =')
Salut, j'ai un problème avec mon Sony Ericsson S500i, je n'arrive pas à l'allumer. Merci de m'expliquer ce que je peux faire.
Hi there!
I have a little problem with my Sony Ericsson W580i,
my charger was dead, and while I was waiting to buy a new one,
I used my SIM card with my old phone,
the issue is that now that I have my new charger,
and I've put my SIM card back in my [charged ^^] phone,
I can no longer make calls or send messages, it says "network problem,"
even though I have almost all the bars...
Should I wait?
Thank you for your help.

At our place, the same problem: SIM card not recognized in Sony Erikson. The phone was sent for repair, and the same issue happened with the new one.
We followed your advice (push the SIM until it clicks) and it works. Thank you very much.
Honestly, they are useless at Orange, they should be aware of this instead of exchanging phones.

Good evening. I too was a victim of the SIM card issue when it was properly inserted in the Sony E S500i; the solution is simple but effective: push the SIM card with a thin object to fully engage it in its slot! However, I haven't tried to take it out after the manipulation: I hope everything will be fine!!
Thanks for the tip!!!
Thanks for the tip!!!
I have exactly the same problem as Proxy!! Suddenly it says "SIM inactive" and then it restarts, sometimes even 3 to 4 times in a row, and it happens several times a day, very, very annoying!!
I will look further to see if there are solutions on the internet, to find out if it’s more likely coming from the phone or the SIM card (I'm with SFR and I have the w890i) I'll keep you updated if I have any news
bye bye

Hello, I just bought a Sony Ericsson W910 and I wanted to change the SIM card but I can't remove the old one, please help me.
Hello, so here it is, 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson W580i and it turns out that for the past few weeks it's been glitching.. That is to say, for example, I was in the middle of writing a message and all of a sudden it would remove the options "Send" and "Options" and then it would give me a black screen.. and suddenly it would come back!
But sometimes instead of coming back it showed "Insert SIM" even though it was inside! At that moment, I would remove the battery, put it back in and restart my phone and it would work again.. But now it turns out that my SIM card is not working at all! No matter how many times I remove and reinsert it, my phone keeps telling me to insert it. Do you have a solution??

Hello everyone
I bought an unlocked Sony Ericsson but the phone is locked. I don't know how to remove it
If anyone has a solution for me, I would be happy, thank you in advance.
