I want to change the ink cartridge on my CANON MP 280 printer, but the carriage is stuck on the right, so I can’t access the old cartridges to change them...

Hello,
Do not force the carriage at all, your printer must be under tension before opening the cover with the tray, which allows the carriage to move automatically when you open it.
