Error E3 Pixma MP210 printer

Question

Hello,

My Canon Pixma MP210 printer is displaying an E3 error. The ink cartridges are new, and there is no paper jam. I'm unable to scan or print. Has anyone encountered this issue before and knows how to resolve it?

I found the solution to my problem which I think was related to the imaginary paper jam issue.
Under the hood and beneath the white part glued to the drive roller, there was a small piece of plastic, see photo:

(the piece of plastic was located at the level of the toothpick, sorry you can't see much)
I noticed that the white part was raised and I removed the piece of plastic with a toothpick, and now it works again!

I have exactly the same problem even though there is no paper jam. The paper is actually not going through... I can't solve this issue even though the printer is new and has only been used once...

I have exactly the same problem and the same error. Apparently, it's a paper issue. My printer at home doesn't take the paper; it doesn't feed it. I see there's something to tighten the paper, but I can't get it to move.
The printer is brand new; I just bought it online. Is there a solution?

I now have a new problem: the error code is now E, 2, 2 which means according to the online manual: "A repair-requiring error may have occurred." When I open the lid and turn on the machine, the carriage on which the cartridges are placed does not return to the left, as if something is blocking it, but I see nothing.

Hi everyone,

Same problem as all of us, as I mentioned. I rushed back to where I bought the printer. It was sent for repair. Two weeks later, a brand new machine was delivered to me... It works perfectly. It's true I had “scolded” them, threatening to share all the good things I thought about this printer and Canon. In short, clearly this printer has some teething issues or design flaws... Good luck.

Hello, I also had this problem (page not coming out, indicating an imaginary paper jam)
I pulled out a small piece of plastic that was stuck practically in the same place as in the photo from Gamespirit,
I inserted a very thick sheet of paper, forcing a bit, lifting the small rollers with a screwdriver to make it go through, and the stuck piece of plastic came out with it.
That saved me from returning it for repair.

Hello,

I had exactly the same issue, but for my part, the problem came from the paper tray spring (sheet tray). I just had to apply a little pressure on the paper latch and everything started working again.

In my opinion, you need to look for the updated driver. I think it hasn't been installed; I bought mine two days ago and it's installed, but it doesn't print and it doesn't scan. So I think the driver isn't up to date. You need to find the driver that corresponds to your system.

Hello Here is the solution You need to press the button with a red circle containing an upside-down red triangle for 5 seconds. Your impressions will start and the error e3 will disappear.

Thank you for all these solution suggestions to make this f...... printer work. As for me, what solved the problem was turning it upside down and shaking it a bit. A little piece of plastic that I couldn't see fell out... and now it works again!

Here are the 4 solutions to apply (message E3 is generic and means "Obstruction")

1/ Check the spring (a small piece of black plastic that can get stuck if you put too much paper or if it is too thin due to a jam).

2/ Check by starting/stopping (the drive starts and can "suck" a sheet) and by inserting a heavy weight sheet (photo paper for example). A lot of junk accumulates under the rollers, you will be surprised.

3/ Turn the device upside down with the cover open and shake it (printer turned off and unplugged of course) vigorously to dislodge debris.

4/ Press and hold the red button for five seconds (this resets the sensor)

Get a very fine screwdriver to remove anything that is stuck if necessary...

Hello, I had the same problem with my Canon Pixma 2455, the paper wouldn't feed into the printer and it always said there was a paper jam. It turned out that there was a piece of plastic stuck inside the printer that was sticking out a bit. I removed it and then it worked.
