Hello,
I have a SONY CYBER SHOT digital camera that is 3 years old and the flash doesn't work at all.
I don't know where to get it repaired and how much it would cost.
Do you think it's worth repairing?
Can I fix it myself??
Have you encountered this problem?
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

The display "E:91:01" disappears when you reset your SONY camera.

I reset my Cyber-shot when the error E:91:01 disappears, there are no more photos taken when I disable the flash, there is photo taking.

Hello, I also have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W40 and I'm having a flash problem; the photos are either black or too white. I was advised not to open it and that there's nothing to be done, except take pictures in broad daylight when it's sunny.
If anyone has a solution, let me know.
    Thank youuuu.

    Hello,
I have an access problem with my SONY Cyber-Shot DSC W70 camera. I can no longer take photos. However, I can still view the previously taken photos on the device. Every time I switch to photo mode, it says "turn off and then turn back on" several times.
Do you have any idea how I can fix it? Have you ever had this problem? If not, where can I get it repaired? Thank you.

        Hello!
Have you solved your problem? I have exactly the same issue happening on my device... We're not very happy!

For this Cyber Shot problem!! If you can deploy your device directly under the cover that hides the back of the app, there is a BIOS battery of the app. If you agree, then just short-circuit the battery with a screwdriver or another conductor! Automatically, your app turns off and restarts without any problem, and you can access the old ports as you can take another 9!!!
I had the same problem, but now it works. I hope it works for you too!!

Hi, I have the same issue as all of you, but mine didn't fall. I'll keep looking for this kind of bulb.

I have the same problem with mine, it's also a Cybershot. I just took it apart, the repair seems possible if I can find the part, which is the real issue. It looks like I have three solder points to undo and then I just need to replace the part. But honestly, I really don't know where to find it. I also know that it’s not cost-effective to have it repaired by Sony or anyone else. It would be better to just buy a new device. If I find the part, I'll keep you updated.

Hello, I'm interested in your information because I also have the same device with the same flash issue. So if you find a supplier for the part, I would be interested.
      Thank you.

    Thank you for responding to my message;
Since I couldn't find anyone to repair it, I bought a new device.
But if you find the part, I'm still interested.
If I can, I will repair it.

Turn it off, take out the memory card and the battery, put it back together, and if you're lucky, it might work again (at least that's what happened with mine).

Me too, my flash burned out!!! Same error E 71... just like you
and I managed to find the part on eBay USA! (there are several sellers)
      it’s repaired AND IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!
the whole flash block needs to be changed, it's not necessarily the bulb that breaks, there's also a capacitor that stores the charge for flashing and the micro!
it's a small block with a ribbon cable to replace!! feasible with some precautions

      http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380172011017&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

for 10€ including shipping!!! you just have to specify the model of the device, so W70 for me!!

also, once the part is changed, if you turn it on, the error is still there!!
YOU JUST NEED TO RESET THE DEVICE

      AND IT WORKS,,,,!!!!!

there you go, hope this helps!!!!!!

Hello, I'm having the exact same problem as you, but how do I reset the camera? I've removed the battery and put it back, but still the same thing. What should I do? Thank you.

It needs to be reset and then everything works afterwards. I had this problem and didn't know what to do anymore. I reset it and the flash started working again and everything was fine. I just had to redo the settings for the language, etc. Try this before repairing or buying another device. Thanks to how it works.

Hello, the flash on my Sony DSC-HX9V refused to pop up, I saw a video in English that showed you needed to pull on it (camera turned off) to force it out. I did that and it works, it functions perfectly now (it wasn't burnt out though!). Good luck with yours...
