Issue with a SONY error e:61:10

Hello
I have had the Sony P52 digital camera for several years, a very practical and efficient device; but it fell out of my pocket a few months ago and since then it displays the quite classic error according to what I have noticed while surfing the net: the error e:61:10! This means that this code appears on startup with a long beep, after a long black screen! This error concerns the optical zoom. The digital zoom still works.
I went to the store, but they told me that the repair cost was very high, so I bought a more efficient one, but I would like to try to repair the old one because it was very practical and small for me.

From what I have read on English forums, after a rough translation into French on Voilà, those who had this problem (which is a large number) have tapped the bottom left of the device and it started working again without error.
I wanted to know if this has ever happened to you and what you did, if you managed to repair it and what you would advise me since I have nothing to lose with this one
thank you
Configuration: sony p52

    Thank you

Same problem, same solution: a sharp tap with the palm while the camcorder is on (HDR CX 520), then remove and reinsert the battery and it works.
In fact, I wasn't surprised; that's how I recalibrate the hard drive of my Archos when it freezes...
As a consequence, be careful with drops; the disks have become fragile when it gets to that point...

I had the same problem with my HDR 190 camcorder and I tried the tape solution and it worked. The zoom is working again. THANK YOU.

Great, I've never seen a pipe like this, it works while they were asking for 3 weeks of downtime at Fnac!!! Thank you so much.

Here was a message of this kind on my device too, except mine was: E:61:00! It's thanks to your message that I was able to recover it :) I gave it two hits with the palm of my hand on the bottom left corner!! After the first hit, the message no longer appeared but it was still blurry, so I gave it another hit (not too hard either) and it went back to normal
    Thank you

PS: the two hits must be given while the device is turned off!!

Error code 61.10 on camcorder: The same operation with a good dose of patience on a SONY XR 550 VE camcorder with a 240 Go hard drive, where the zoom, focus, and stabilizer no longer worked. Everything is functioning again, but be careful when transporting devices with built-in drives.

    Thank you
I have a Sony P50 and for 2 years the error E61:10 has been appearing; obviously, the repair was more expensive than buying a new one.
Well, thanks to you, I now have 2 working cameras.
You really have to hit it hard, but it's perfect, no more errors and the image is clear again.

    Incredible!!
My camera has been showing the same error message for a few months after a fall, and tonight for New Year's Eve I attempt a last-ditch rescue by following your method: I give a sharp tap on the lower left corner: MIRACLE!!!! It's working normally again!!
I'm super happy! Thank you very much for the tip.

    Happy New Year!

It works with a 2.1 Cyber-shot that I was about to throw in the trash.
Don’t hesitate to tap left or right several times (in your hands, not on the ground or with a hammer...) to make the error signal disappear and get the photos clear again.
    Long live the forums!

My mother has a Cyber-shot DSC W1 and two days ago she wanted to take a photo but it was blurry, then the zoom got stuck and wouldn’t close anymore. I thought I would have to throw the camera away (which I had given her a year and a half ago!) and miracle, I just gave it two taps and it works again.. I hope it lasts!!
    Thanks for the trick!!

It worked for me too! 2-3 taps on the bottom left, and the error symbol is gone. I can film with my camera again, phew! A big thank you to the one who found the solution :D

    Good evening,

I have a DSC T1 and I've been getting the error message E 61:10 for about ten days. So, I gave it a few slaps, to put it mildly, and well: IT WORKS!!! Give it one on the left and one on the right: it won't hurt it... Thank you anyway for this valuable information.

    Best regards,

    Hello,
Huge, I'm just thinking about how forceful it is to hit it, and just 2 or 3 little taps to start, it works again! Magic, thank you.

I'm stoked, I've got a Sony Cybershot 5.1 dsc-w1, I had it for 6 months when it showed the error message E:61:00 because it fell on the ground.
Same pattern, the seller told me it would cost more to repair than to buy a new one. It’s been sitting at the back of a closet for a year, and I had a flash to check here since I always find a solution!!! Magic, two taps on the bottom of the device, on the opposite side of the memory card, and it's working like new!!!!!

    Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!

    Hello,
excellent, thank you for all this info.....the error is gone. But there is a small issue remaining, my zoom is stuck, I can only open very little or close very little, not like before, so if someone has this last solution, that would be excellent
    thank you
    see you++
