PC won't turn on after overheating

Hello,

Following an overheating problem (maybe it's poorly placed and the fan didn’t work properly), the PC (HP laptop) won’t turn on anymore. We managed to restart it once; it worked for 5 minutes and then shut down again. Now nothing happens, not even a small beep.
Reassure me, it could just be a fuse or something like that, right? Or if the PC is dead, can we at least recover what’s on the hard drive????

Thank you for your help
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Hello,

Do the indicator lights come on when the computer is plugged in?

if when you press it there is nothing on the screen, it means it's serious
the good news is that you can recover the information from the hard drive by removing it and connecting it to another PC with an adapter

If the diode flashes even 2 or 3 times, it does not come from the power supply. I'm worried about the motherboard or the processor. It would be better to have it checked by a repair service or a computer technician who has the necessary equipment for this verification. I'm sorry...
