built-in webcam on Packard Bell Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
I own a laptop from PACKARD BELL EASYNOTE_MX52-B-004 with an integrated webcam running WINDOWS VISTA.
The problem is that I can't find the webcam because it is nowhere to be found in the icons; however, it works on Messenger (except for camera control) and I can even configure it, it appears correctly in the device manager as USB2.0 1.3M UVC WEBCAM
I cannot launch it myself because I don't have an icon in "My Computer" (Computer for Vista) nor in the Control Panel????????
I even looked at PACKARD BELL but I couldn't find a driver for the webcam just in case!!
I searched everywhere even on your forum but to no avail!!!!!!!

So I am asking for your help if you can assist me, I thank you in advance.

Hi, I don't understand why you're looking for your camera, but you'll find it here:

start-->computer-->right click-->properties-->device manager-->imaging devices...

By the way, I have the same PC, and I'd like to know if yours is also abnormally slow... thanks.

Yes, you can access the camera like that, but you forgot to go to properties afterwards; you need to go to the hardware tab and then to device manager!

I found the camera, it shows that it is working well, but on MSN, it doesn't work or it works intermittently. Do you know what might be causing this??
Impossible to configure it on MSN; it says that it can't find the camera!!

I have the same problem as Satanika... I would like to be able to film with my webcam (outside of MSN), or take a photo but there is no software provided. Windows Movie Maker does not support the webcam... On the other hand, I have Pinnacle Studio Plus and I can capture my webcam image with it... However, I would still like to be able to do it with a more "lightweight" software.

I had the same problem, I installed the driver too and when I clicked on it, nothing happened!!
Luckily, I didn't delete it from my PC!!
I turned it off, and the next day, the icon worked, the camera sent me my image!!
But still, from time to time, it doesn't work on MSN, so I disable it in the properties and then re-enable it, and after that it works!!
That's what I found!!

then you need to enter the serial number of your laptop, it's usually written underneath next to the barcode and preceded by S/N:

and then they offer you a download page for all the drivers for your PC (on Vista) and you just need to select the image device webcam series Easynote and that's it, you'll have the driver you need under Vista

Yes, it's normal that you don't have software for the webcam because it's not installed on the computer. I have the same computer and the same problem. So indeed, you have the webcam and you can use it with MSN or Skype, but if you want to take photos offline, you need to download the Packard Bell software.

Hello, for all those who have struggled with their webcam and tried all the suggestions made here,  first of all, I own an Easynote ST 86 M020 FR limited edition, my webcam worked in the MSN configuration options but wouldn't start when I wanted to have a conversation! After installing the webcam driver update, a cam software, and a ton of things lol, I tried uninstalling Messenger Plus!. However, when you want to uninstall Plus!, there is a repair option, which I tried! And to my great surprise, my webcam works in conversation, I did the process on two PCs, and both times it worked, so here’s another solution for you to try! Good evening,  I've just spent several hours struggling to set up my integrated webcam... I've tried everything... and believe it or not, I found a solution  Download CAS Lite from the Packard Bell website (no need to know what PC you have, the software is the same for all USB 2.0 1.3M UVC...  For everyone installing CAS Lite and seeing "Webcam busy," you probably have a USB port being used; I had my external hard drive... I noticed that the webcam also uses a USB port in parallel, along with the related driver...  Empty all your USB ports and launch CAS Lite; it should work...  And if it crashes, restart your PC once with the USB ports empty, and try again...  PS: I started with a webcam that had an inverted image, only to end up with a webcam that didn't work at all... now it works perfectly with all programs like WLM, Skype, Gmail video, ... this solution is therefore valid for all your problems.
