Touchpad issues on Packard Bell Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
I don't know if my message belongs here, but I'm giving it a shot!
I have a Packard Bell Easynote R1 laptop and I'm having an issue with my touchpad. It's been inactive for 3 hours...
I think I accidentally locked it, but I can't find the method to unlock it.
I have still tried restoring and reinstalling the driver, as well as all the FN+ something keys... and nothing at all. And of course, I can't find anything on the Packard forums either...
Can someone please help me???

At my place, to activate or deactivate it, it's simple; you just need to press the indicator light (a hand with a rectangle).

I have a problem with it too, but it's kind of the opposite of yours; I want to disable it... but surprise, surprise, the touchpad doesn't show up in the hardware, the help section, or anywhere else... it's just great, Packard Bell, I have a touchpad that's bothering me that I want to disable so badly, but my PC tells me it doesn't exist. Given how much it's annoying me (because I keep clicking on it accidentally), I can assure you otherwise... this is the first and last time I buy a Packard Bell; not only do I have a bunch of problems with it, but the tech support is just as poor as the product :/

And on top of that, they still haven't figured out that AMD goes with ATI and Pentium with GeForce, not the other way around... pffff, I swear...

By the way, if anyone has a solution, that would be great ^^

Download the driver from synaptics.com and install it. You will then have access to plenty of options, including the ability to disable the touchpad from the control panel -> mouse.

I'm posting my problem here hoping that this is the right place!

I have a problem with the touchpad of my Packard Bell, I can't find the "scrolling" function for web pages. The version of the TouchPad is: Synaptics TouchPad V6.3, The Packard Bell is the EasyNote MB87. However, when I plug in a mouse, the scroll wheel works perfectly fine.
I've configured in the Synaptics settings a touch area (at the bottom right of my Touchpad) to "scroll the current window down," but it only works for Windows and not for Mozilla (and it's not very convenient...).
I should mention that my Touchpad is circular, I have no more ideas, I've tried almost all the settings of the Synaptics device and I'm starting to think that scrolling doesn't exist on this model of PB...!?!
If anyone has an idea...

I HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I STRUGGLED FOR A WHILE, I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND NOTHING.
ACTUALLY, YOU HAVE THE F7 KEY WITH A LITTLE HAND ON IT.
YOU NEED TO PRESS FN, WHICH IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE KEYBOARD, AND PRESS F7 AT THE SAME TIME.
HOLD IT FOR A MOMENT AND THAT'S IT!!

Hello, for the Packard Bell Easynote LJ75  you need to press the symbol at the top of the numeric keypad.

On your laptop, you notice just above the keyboard a certain number of icons, including a square with a finger on it... it's a touch key; press it with your finger, it will turn off, and your touchpad will be activated again...

Good evening, I have the same touchpad issue with a Packard Bell Easynote MH36.
However, there is no shortcut key on the keyboard with a little hand that allows me to reactivate the pad using a FN+key combination.

There is also no touch button to reactivate it.

And I have already reinstalled the drivers and nothing works.

Does anyone have a solution?

Can you see the bar at the bottom with Internet Explorer and so on on the desktop? Normally, you should also have a blue thing with a little gear. Click on it and a window will open, from which you can enable and disable a lot of things, including airplane mode and the "touchpad." That's how I did it, I hope it works for you.

I had the same problem with a Packard Bell EN TE69KB running Windows 8.1 that I installed on it. I reset my computer to an earlier date and just like that, my touchpad started working again simply because the Synaptics driver for the touchpad and keyboard was not installed. Windows handles both devices without any issues. In other words, this driver only causes problems and solving them is really a hassle.  To realize this, I used various tools, whether it was the site  or uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and even going as far as manually disabling both devices.  The best thing to do in such a case is to make a backup and then reinstall Windows, and once that's done, make sure not to install Synaptics.
