Windows XP: setupdd.sys "Error code 7"

Solved

Hello,
I have a problem with my PC. I moved it and took the opportunity to give it a gentle cleaning, and I reconnected everything perfectly like before.
However, it wouldn't restart. It starts up, I see the motherboard BIOS as usual, then it launches the boot program but the screen is black and it displays nothing.
After about 5 or 6 reboots, it shows me a message saying that the boot could not be completed because certain Windows files are missing.
Since I have a laptop, I put my hard drive in an external hard drive case and it starts up perfectly; I can see all my files, so I transferred all my important files to another external hard drive and formatted it using the computer manager.
Then I reconnected my formatted hard drive to my PC and inserted my Windows CD. The installation program started, but after a few moments, it stopped and told me that it was impossible to load setupdd.sys because the error code was 7. However, I read that the Windows 7 error code indicates that memory control blocks have been destroyed. I don't quite understand why and what I should do.
Thank you all for your responses.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Well, I’m answering myself to help those who might have the same problem...
It's the RAM sticks that were poorly installed... due to a slight displacement... fragile... ^^

Thank you rex2481 that one day you alone answered your question. I had the same problem and yes, you just need to remove the memory sticks and put them back in place or remove the last RAM installed, which I did and it worked. I didn't need to format what I was about to do, so follow all this advice if it happens to you, it can save your computer; bye.

Thank you, Rex, a few little phrases that will make a lot of people happy, I'm sure, including me :)

And to think I thought it was a bug in the CD...or in the "systemDD" Hard Drive...I broke a CD just for this nonsense :s

Thanks again!

My dear Rex2481, allow me to call you "my dear" because you saved my life. Tonight, you will fall asleep with this idea of a renewed chivalrous spirit:
it was indeed because of the memory sticks that I had this message on setupdd.sys and error code 7.
I removed them and then put them back, and it works: well done (I would have never thought of that)
Long live to you.

For me too, it's the RAM sticks.
Thanks to you Rex2481, I didn’t struggle (too much), although I had already reformatted. In the end, I was expecting worse.
May all the gods (including the one of computing) bless you for life.

Good evening, by the way, I am experiencing the same problem as yours, only my RAM is integrated or soldered to the motherboard. I am using a Toshiba A60, so how should I go about desoldering this memory since the BIOS does not provide any option to disable it? Thank you all because I believe you can help me.

Indeed, it was the RAM full of dust, just clean them and put them back, it will start.
