TV sound cut-off Closed

Question

Hello everyone,
I just installed my new Sony Bravia Full HD 40" TV and I’m facing a very stressful issue,

First of all, I connected an HDMI cable from the Free Box HD to the TV + Blu-ray DVD player.

The problem is that the TV sound cuts out intermittently at times, it can last for a few seconds up to 1 minute. This happens at any moment on any channel, and it surely originates from the Free Box.

I think I’ve tried everything to resolve this bug.
I navigated through the settings of both the TV and the Free Box
I have rebooted several times, I followed the rebooting process meticulously, checked the connections, etc... But nothing works; I can't resolve this persistent issue.

I tried replacing my HDMI cable, but nothing changed. As for the SCART connection, it doesn’t work with my latest model TV, the screen turns bright green.

This phenomenon is really strange,
Despite hard rebooting the Free Box - reactivating the hard drive, etc...
I checked the HDMI cable connection (by the way, I tried with two new cables, and the problem persists). I examined these ends to ensure that the clips are well secured, that there are no bent or broken pins, etc...

This problem persists and only occurs through the Free Box, not in video mode. (The SOUND is intact when using the DVD player)
What is very strange is that when the TV is through the Free Box, the SOUND / AUDIO can cut out intermittently and then return after a few seconds. There’s no pattern; it can happen at any moment....

Are there any people here experiencing this anomaly...?

Hello,

Same for me! I bought a full HD LCD and hooked up the Freebox via HDMI! I also regularly experience sound cutouts!
By turning the box off and on again, it gets back to normal!
Maybe the box doesn't manage HDMI properly??

I have the same problem. I recently bought a plasma TV and I also had to purchase an HDMI cable because I was experiencing a green image (poor reception according to the installer...). After 15 days, I notice these very annoying sound cuts. I'm afraid there might be nothing to be done.

It seems that the problem comes from the parameters of the Freebox in HDMI auto. So do not set it to auto, but to the resolution of your LCD (for example, 1080x50).  It works for me with that.

I am experiencing
exactly the same sound issues with a Bravia KDLV40 and my Canal+ Mediasat decoder.

A technician, supposedly a SONY specialist, came to analyze the problem at home and concluded that there is a version HDMI incompatibility between the television and the decoder.

So apparently, we are being deceived by the manufacturers, I think.

That's where I currently stand with my sound problem.

Same problem with the Orange decoder since they switched me to HD, small sound cuts of about 2 to 3 seconds on any channel. I'm going to call Orange again for a possible adjustment; I’ve already called them once, it's frustrating.
