My MP3 player Marca Listo won't turn on

Hello,

I bought a Listo MP3 player at Boulanger, but the player no longer turns on (the battery is new). I lost the CD that came with it, but I have a paper mentioning a firmware update. Since I no longer have the CD, I can't do anything. Is there a link to download this firmware or tell me if it’s useless?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, does it only turn on when it’s on the computer or all the time?

    Hi Maxime!

I had about the same problem but it showed an I/O error under Windows XP!

I reloaded the firmware via the utility on the CD. Don’t forget to check the “Data area of format” box.

I ZIPed the utilities from the CD: 10MB.

to be fetched from dl.free.fr at the following address:

    http://dl.free.fr/getfile.pl?file=/mjqT51Kt/LISTO-512Mo.zip

    I hope it will work!

Please reply to me when the file has been retrieved so I can remove it from the server.

      Hello,

I downloaded your zip, but it seems tailored for the 512 MB reader. I have a 1 GB reader, and when I try to update the firmware, it starts fine, then at the end it says it is impossible to verify the update..
Has anyone else had the same problem?
could it be because it’s a 1 GB version?
      thanks

If it is new, in my opinion you can return it to customer service.

Hi, me too I have a Baladur ready, it turns on but I can’t access the music folder. What should I do? It stays on for a few seconds and then the battery dies, of course new. Thanks for your help.

Hello, I have an MP3 player bought at Boulanger. I can’t get it to turn on when I try to insert it into the removable disk; it tells me it’s unreadable or damaged. What should I do (I don’t have the installation CD)?

      Hi,

download the file provided in message #6. It works fine (even though I didn’t go all the way...)

Same problem as everyone else, I bought a 512MB Listo at an auction.
Impossible to start it with a new battery, blue flashing light.
Not recognized under Windows XP, recognized as a removable drive, I tried installing drivers manually, automatically, tried formatting under DOS, nothing and still nothing.
I came across your various testimonials and there, bingo, by mixing all the techniques I managed to get it to start and load music.
In fact I went to the folder of the install CD named Firmware Update Tool/Binary and ran stupdaterapp.exe
in fact it takes a moment to launch because it searches the computer peripherals and in fact it is a firmware install file for Sigmatel MSCN but not the same as the setup.exe in the Firmware Update Tool folder.
So in the panel that will appear, remember to check the format box and click start.
Maybe you’ll have to restart the computer to apply the firmware changes and there you go.
Good luck to those who didn’t give up and didn’t throw their player in the trash.

To answer your swiki question you must have received with your mp4 a USB cable!!!
you must plug it into your PC and connect it to your mp4!!!!

    and that’s it!!!!

    see you later

      Hello,

I had trouble installing my Listo 1 GB player bought at Boulanger in April 2009. It wasn’t recognized by Windows XP.

It seems I found a solution, so I’m posting here for others who might be in the same situation.

Shut down the computer, unplug it from the mains, hold the power button down for about 30 seconds.
Reconnect it and turn it back on.

Weird solution but it works (at least for me)

PS: If it still doesn’t work, ask a friend to install the music on the MP3 for you (Windows also recognizes MP3s) and then recharge the MP3 by plugging it into their computer via USB even if it shows as an unknown device; the battery will still charge.

      Hope this helps.
