Choppy video in full screen

I had, in principle, the same problem and the same level of computer knowledge as Patrick25.

While browsing through various forums, no one seemed able to meet the needs of the absolute beginner, and I got lost in drivers, unknown software, and other aliens.

I ultimately solved my problem thanks to the simple and effective advice from Pierrergn. A big thank you, therefore, for this information.

A small addition for Patrick25: once you're in the right window, Windows XP offers to perform an automatic driver update when you right-click. It works after you've restarted the computer.

Go to the control panel, system, device management
check your graphics card to see if you have a yellow exclamation mark, or if your graphics card is labeled "standard vga adapter" or something else that is not the brand of your card, maybe you don't have the drivers installed

by default, everything is slow without the drivers, and your message lacks detail

go to your graphics card manufacturer's website (ati or nvidia) then download the latest drivers for your card (usually it's a single file for all models) install, reboot and test.
