Hello,
I started downloading a file on eMule, and when my PC disconnected, this file no longer appears in the transfer area. It still exists in the temp directory, with the extensions .part, .part.net, and .part.net.bak.
Is there a way to put it back in the transfer area, or do I have to restart the download?

Hello, I think I'm a bit late, but for those who are encountering this as I did two days ago, I have a solution to recover the "unrecoverable" files by Mule and without using any software.
If you still have your lost .part file in the temp folder of eMule (if you don't know its number, just check the server tab log to see which file is no longer usable by eMule, or no longer valid...) You actually need to find this file using the search engine of Mule or by some other means restart the file; however, you need to know the Hash of this file to get the same .part/met, that's the downside. But once this file is relaunched in Mule, leave it on pause (it will have taken a new number for its .part and .part.met), and right-click on it and select "import parts into file." All you have to do is choose the old unrecoverable .part, and you'll see as if by magic the percentage of completion gradually return to the point where it was at the time of the loss.
I actually had this problem two days ago on a MorphXT v10.5 Mule (but I'm sure that on the regular Mule the import is possible too) that crashed because my HDD was full, and I lost a 3.07 GB file, and I recovered the 2.67 GB downloaded before the crash. For a file with between 10 sources at night and 15 sources during the day, downloading for 10 days, I guarantee you will go "phew" lol!
So I hope these explanations have been helpful..! I'm asking someone who might know if it’s possible to do the reverse operation, well almost, namely to export certain parts of a .part file, from Mule or elsewhere, basically Exporting the Chunks of a file separately, if someone knows the solution, I’m all ears! Thanks in advance!!

Hello, no, I don't think the Mod MorphXT is essential; I no longer have a version of eMule installed on hand to verify, but I think the import option is in all recent versions of eMule.
What you need is to relaunch your file (the same one, so the same Hash code), either by searching for it in the Mule's search engine or by the method you used to add it if it's a different way, it's up to you to choose.
Once the file is there, it is obviously at 0%. Now you need to find the file number that corresponded to the one you lost, 40% of 6.4GB should be either 2.56GB or 6.4GB if your Mule is set to reserve the available disk space (default setting of the Mule). You just need to click on the file you relaunched where you're at 0% progress in the Mule, click on "Import parts to files" while looking for the .part that corresponds to the one you lost, which should be either 2.64GB or 6.4GB. Normally, if you go to the server tab of your Mule, and if that file still exists, there should be a message like "787.part.met () is invalid, unable to download the file," if the number of your lost file is 787 (for example), you then need to import the "797.part" file, and that should bring it back to 40%, while the data is being imported, we see the size and percentage gradually increasing.
I hope this helps you; otherwise, feel free to clarify your problem. First, make sure that your lost file is still on your hard drive in your eMule temporary folder, and find its number.

No, there really isn’t that option in the latest official version of eMule (0.48a).
But I installed MorphXT, and I made use of this function, it worked, I recovered my 40% that had already been downloaded (phew because I have a bandwidth limit and it would have really pissed me off to have to download everything again). Now we’ll see if in the end the complete file will be functional or corrupted.
If that’s the case, that would be really cool!
Thanks, see you later, and for those who come across this thread, try the MorphXT mod for eMule, and the "Import parts to files..." option, it’s very handy, even if I haven’t been able to test it thoroughly yet!

Well, I'm glad it worked out; for me, it worked on a 3GB file, I recovered the 2.61GB that were already downloaded, and when it's a file with 11 sources and only 2 or 3 complete... you're happy!!
Otherwise, thanks for letting me know that it was only MorphXT that had this option, it saves me from installing a normal version just to check that...
I'd really like to be able to extract chunks (the 9MB parts and the like) to make them available on a personal site and speed up my shares. MorphXT is primarily designed to help with sharing; when well-configured, I think it's the best! If I find a way to extract chunks, we could put different .part files of the same file on a web or FTP server to import them directly into a downloading file to speed it up, help with sharing, etc. It's still essential that the importation of different .part files for a single file is possible, like a .part that has the first quarter of the file, another that has the second, etc.
Finally, I think I still have a starting solution... to test... I think if it works, it could revolutionize the use of eMule and the overall performance of the network!

Good evening,
As long as the loading of a file is not finished, it should be left in the "temp" folder. Once this loading is
complete, the file, in its usable version, will automatically be found in the "incoming" folder of Emule.
In order for the download to complete, you need to restart Emule and then restart the download by choosing a
server
hoping I have helped you
have a good weekend

Hello,
I have the same problem. After a PC crash,
I restarted the PC and then the mule, and in the list of ongoing files, one file was missing. However, the .part file still exists in the mule's temp directory.
I tried using 'tools' to import the part files, but nothing happened...
What should I do?
Thanks for your help!

Actually, I had to give up, the emule tools don't work,
once by chance I managed to restart the mule on a lost file by cleaning the registry with regedit, but this time it didn’t work.
I have a small idea: maybe it’s coming from Norton, if you have a "retail" PC with basic Norton, it’s possible that this idiot messed things up if you had a power outage.
So, I don’t know more, but you can always restart the download of your file on the mule.
Good luck

I wanted to move my incoming file that I had placed on my desktop, so I put it in my Windows taskbar (I'm on Vista -_- not for long though..), and then surprise, after deleting the incoming folder from the desktop and opening the one from the Windows taskbar, not a single sound... -_-
Can anyone help me?? xD
Thanks

Oh yes, it has nothing to do with eMule, it's a problem caused by my friend Bill, another one. I don't know Vista and I don't want to get to know it, but if you've checked that the sound settings are okay in the taskbar, you need to go into the BIOS and reset the settings to default.
There you go, good luck!

Hello
To recover your lost file on eMule, you need to know that each file on eMule corresponds to three files in the "Temp" directory located at C:\Program Files\eMule\Temp\, these 3 files are for example:
001.part
001.part.met
001.part.met.bak
Now, to recover your lost file and display it on the "Transfer" tab in eMule, you need to first:
1- Disconnect eMule
2- Delete the file "001.part.met"
3- Rename the file "001.part.met.bak" to "001.part.met"
And there you go, just connect eMule, and if all goes well, you will find your lost file regenerated in the "Transfer" tab without losing any part of what has already been downloaded.

To make it easier to search in the emule temp file, I installed the elule shell extension, which allows displaying the names of the downloads next to the parts.
With that, I noticed that I still had 700 MB files that had disappeared in emule, but which were taking up a lot of space on the hard drive.

THANKS GUYS, IT WAS SO AWESOME. I DOWNLOADED EMULE V.049B MORPXT V.11.1, THEN SEARCHED FOR THE MISSING FILE IN TEMP, FOUND IT IN THE MULE SEARCH ENGINE, DOWNLOADED IT, RIGHT CLICK, IMPORT PARTS OF FILES, AND THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING. EVERYTHING COMES BACK IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE, YOU'VE RECOVERED YOUR FILE. THERE YOU GO, IT DOESN'T GET SIMPLER THAN THAT. THANKS EVERYONE.
Are you tired of your computer crashing and your eMule losing its downloading files? No problem, you will simply need: time and disk space.
We will proceed BEFORE any potential bug.
Search for your file on eMule, and download it.
Then go to the eMule files directory (usually named "Temp").
Look for your three files in there (part, met, part.met, etc.).
Copy them somewhere else, into another folder.
And normally, if you lose your file, you should be able to import the copy into eMule, and the download will resume where it left off. Tested.
Good luck!
PS: if you need more details, feel free to ask!
