Hello everyone,
So here is my problem: to begin with, I know absolutely nothing about computers :)
I bought a Packard Bell Easynote SJ51 PC with Windows Vista installed on it. Then a friend advised me to install Windows XP instead... which I did immediately... That's when the troubles began.
After installing XP, I lost all the drivers and apparently, it's impossible to find them again... So I wanted to revert back to Vista, but at that point, I was told that my Vista installation files were on my hard drive and that I needed to burn them to a blank DVD, which I didn't do...
I now find myself with a PC running Windows XP, without drivers, and my questions are:
- Does the activation key for Vista that came with my PC work on another Vista installation CD?
- If so, is there any way to download (for free and legally) the files from an original installation CD via the internet, run them on my PC to install Vista, and then activate it with my activation key?
If that's impossible... Do you have any other advice for me knowing that I'm a beginner...
Thank you in advanceConfiguration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.8

To restore Vista without a CD:
- You start your computer
- You press Ctrl Alt F10 at the same time then choose "system restore"
This will allow you to get your computer running again as if it were out of the box.
Good luck
