Hello,
This screen started flickering, I disassembled it and found 2 swollen capacitors which I replaced (1000µF 16V). Since then, my screen turns on, the LED stays lit but the backlight turns on for 1 second and then goes off. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you, HP screen 20555 sh249 from 2004, same power board as 1733

Thank you, Serge, for your photos! I will do my best to make good use of them; I'll keep you updated.
Hello Serge
I don’t have that problem with this screen, but another one; I already changed it under warranty with HP, but the problem has come back, and it’s no longer under warranty! The power button is dead; and I'm looking for a way to open it; I’ve removed the 4 screws in the 4 corners at the back, as well as the 4 larger screws holding the stand, but I can't see how to remove the plastic casing! Could you please tell me how to proceed???

There are 4 clips at the top, 3 on the sides, and 2 at the bottom. Use a blade at the bottom to pry forward, the front is fragile, then press on the back on each side and lift gently while pushing upwards to release the frame. If you need photos, just let me know.
Thanks for your response, Serge! Yes for the photos, I’m interested, if you have the time of course!
If you managed to disassemble your screen, could you please tell me the value of the resistor R903? Thank you.
