VISTA Issue and The GODFATHER

Hello,

I am also having the same problem with The GODFATHER on VISTA. The game copies normally and when I try to launch it, it stops, tells me it will attempt to solve a problem, and returns to the desktop.

Does anyone have a solution because even with other games, it takes a long time... or it doesn't work at all!

    Hi there, I had the same problem and all you need to do is rename the folder "Movies" to "_Movies". Once that's done, the game works right away, there you go!
    If it doesn't work, leave me a message and I'll get back to you.

      I did everything you indicated above
      so sure the game starts and everything, I create my character but as soon as that’s done and I click ok, it first asks for a name for the character, but I can’t enter one, it won’t let me type so I click ok and it sends me back to my desktop and says there was a problem. What should I do to finally be able to play this game lol??

      Salut, j'ai fait ce que tu dis, le jeu se lance mais le bémol c'est que je ne peux pas mettre le nom quand il faut créer son personnage.

      c or "movies" because I can only find it in a compressed folder and I can't change its name.

    For those who are still wondering about the issue and if it still doesn't work, for XP compatibility, it needs to be applied to all existing functioning files, both on the CD (right-click open CD) and on the installed files on the computer (c/program files/GF....)

    The game is incompatible, well that's what Microsoft says without thinking...
    It's the divx videos that don't work, delete the "movies" folder from the installation directory (c:\program files\...).
    Don't worry, you'll still see the videos that explain the story since they are made with the game's 3D engine...
    Here's the trick!

    Hi Gamers,

    Part of the problem has been resolved thanks to the proposed solutions as I can now access the game menu. (victory)

    However, a new challenge has now arisen: setting up the character because it is impossible to type (to choose a name for the character).

    So I tried to load a save file from the internet but nothing works as I don't know where to put it.
    On the other hand, I've searched for the folder where the character is saved, but I can't find that either.

    I had given up on this for a while, but I think I'm going to call EA to give them a piece of my mind because buying a game that doesn't work is really frustrating.

    If anyone finds a solution in the meantime, it would be much appreciated.

    Hi Gamer,

    I have the same problem as you, the game installs correctly but I can't launch it.

    I tried compatibility mode with Service Pack 2 and Windows 2000, and as administrator, but nothing works.
    I've downloaded different Fixes but the result is the same.
    I'm in the same situation as you but I can't help you, just understand.

    If you find a solution, .... (besides uninstalling and selling the game!!!)

    I've done what was explained above, and it worked; the game ran well at first, but as soon as I got to the character customization page where I'm asked for a name, the game crashes. Can someone help me?

    Hello everyone, does anyone know the backup directory for the game The Godfather please?

    I copied a save file to C:\Documents and Settings\*****\My Documents\GF and when I launch the game, the save doesn't appear.

    I found it :p

    Rename the video file to _video

    Then right-click on godfather.exe and set it to compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, click ok, then right-click on godfather.exe again and click on run as administrator.
