Hello, could someone tell me which Quick Media Converter I could download to convert my TS videos recorded from TV? I find plenty, but they don't work with my equipment. I have a PC with Windows 10, 64 bits. What should I do? I'm not very knowledgeable, and the vocabulary is too complicated... so it's not for me. A big thank you in advance to anyone who can help me. Happy New Year to everyone...

PS: I'm not sure I'm in the right place...

    Hello,

I don't know what you call Quick Media Converter in proper French, I use Avidemux which is simple, converting to mkv without changing any settings and without any further ado.

But not directly from the TV, from a TNT recorder costing just a few dozen euros.

TV streams coming from the Boxes are usually protected and not directly recordable.

      Hello, likewise,

It's not complicated as long as the storage is NTFS, which is generally the case for a computer; if it were, for example (as is my case), a TNT decoder that only wants to deal with FAT32, you would need to split the output into pieces smaller than 4 GB.

Copy as is to Mpeg and that's that.

The only difficulty arises if you want to get rid of the ads by cutting with the bottom menu; it's a bit tedious and you'll ruin the movie if you don't cut at the exact right frame; out of sheer fatigue, I leave it as is.

I was never able to convert some of them, either because I left them in TS format if they were less than 4 GB, or left them in their original format if they were different. In all cases, these were files retrieved from very old Boxes or from the Internet, and in my case, they are readable not on my TNT decoder-recorder but on a media gateway with more advanced codecs.

The moral is that it's important to test the files by fast forwarding in the bottom bar according to the codecs of the device intended to play these films to check if they are readable.
