Hello,

My wife has an iPhone SE with a failing battery. She has just bought a refurbished iPhone 13 mini. We are trying to transfer all her data to the new iPhone 13 using the direct method (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth on the old iPhone and placing the 2 iPhones side by side). Several videos online explain this method, but in our case, the two devices cannot communicate.

What means are used for the transfer (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth)?

Should the new iPhone also be in Wi-Fi + Bluetooth?

We cannot perform the transfer via iCloud because there is too much data to transfer.

Can you help us resolve this issue or tell us if there is a third method to carry out this transfer?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello,

I suggest you back up the iPhone SE with your PC, then restore this backup on the new iPhone.

To do this, download Apple Devices and connect the iPhone to your PC via USB cable. Then create a backup.

To also back up saved passwords, WiFi settings, etc., you can choose to encrypt the backup by creating a password. Do not lose this password, or the backup will become irretrievable.

Once the backup is complete, go to the iPhone 13 and choose to restore it from a computer, then connect it to the PC to restore the backup.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. Actually, I solved my problem. On the old iPhone, I was pressing too hard on the home button when it asked me for my Touch ID, which cut off the communication between the two phones.

For my personal information, I would like to know how the transfer between the two phones is done because I activated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the old phone as indicated in the procedure, but I didn't activate anything on the new iPhone, and yet the transfer goes through just fine.

In any case, thank you for your help.

    Sincerely

Okay, thank you for the feedback. And just so you know, since the new iPhone is getting ready for a transfer, it will automatically turn on Bluetooth to receive the data.
