Two questions about Galaxy Tab A9 Plus 5G

Hello,

1- Can the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus 5G exactly be used like any mobile phone to call everyone, and send and receive SMS, without any connection to the Samsung account or any other special conditions?

Everything I have read about this concerns two devices, both registered to the Samsung account to communicate with each other.

But, I am talking about something else: I am talking about normal use of this tablet as any mobile phone to send and receive phone calls and SMS, completely independently.

2 - The tablet I saw has "One UI 5.1.1" and a version 13 of Android.
It is also from the "first generation" according to the written presentation.

Updates to Android versions 15 and 16 require newer versions of "One UI"
Are Android 15 and Android 16 and other updates available for this tablet?

Finally, if you have used this tablet, what is your opinion on this device?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,

Hello,

I have a Galaxy Tab A9+ Wi-Fi so it doesn't have a SIM card and I can only make calls and send/receive SMS by syncing with my smartphone.

But for the 5G version, I'm having difficulty finding information. The tablet can use the SIM card to connect to the internet, but it's unclear regarding calls and SMS.

My tablet is from 2024 and has One UI 7.0 and Android 15.

Regarding my opinion, I am satisfied with this tablet; it is fast, the apps and games run smoothly, and even with moderate use, it has a battery life of 4 days. However, the camera is really basic.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

Indeed, we did not specify the existence or non-existence of the possibility of using the SIM card to send and receive calls and SMS with this tablet.

And that is what creates doubt.

Also, I did not understand the term "the first generation.”
I also do not know if "One UI 5.1.1" is a technical specification for all "Galaxy A 9+ before the update that will take place after purchase.

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Hello,

I don't understand what "first generation" means in this case either, but even if the tablet is sold with OneUI 5.1.1 and Android 13, you will be able to update to a new version of OneUI and Android once the tablet is connected to the internet.

The update history can be found here: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-X216B/EUX/doc.html
