Outlook 2024 unable to add Free account

Hello,

I switched to Outlook 2024, I entered all my email accounts except Free, I can't set up my Free email account. I tried with Mailbird and it worked fine. I can't understand what is blocking with Outlook 2024, before I had 2021 and it was fine.

If you have any suggestions, thank you in advance

    Hello,
    PST files do not contain account settings. Go to Microsoft's website; they explain in detail what a PST file contains.

    While 2024 is indeed an update of 2021, this is often the case with application updates; after the update, certain functions "mess up".

    Looking online, my case is far from isolated, but no solution has been proposed.

    I also installed 2024 and there is no problem entering a Free account (or another) except for the automatic test which is faulty and shouldn't be used as indicated in the link I provided.

    Unable to enter my Free email account.

    But again, what happens exactly when you try? Error message(s)?

    What settings are you using?

    Server names? Ports used? Encryption? Authentication?

    Everything is in the screenshots from the link in my first response.

    Hi,

    I'm going to check the link you sent me.

    I did retrieve the 2021 pst but it doesn't change anything.

    However, I just tried with the new outlook and it works.

    Yet the Pst contains all the info (emails, accounts, etc.).

    If you retrieve the 2021 Pst, you don't need to recreate the accounts.

    Moreover, 2024 is just an update of 2021; nothing fundamental has changed.

    When you told me to remove the automatic test, I was focused on something else when I made a new attempt and I didn't remove the auto test.

    I just did it and it indeed works, thank you very much for this tip.
