Date format issue when mailing merge

Hello.

When I merge Access 2010 with a Word document, once the document is merged, the dates appear in the US format. How can I change them to the format 13/08/2025 for example?

Thank you for your help because I've been having these issues since I updated to Windows 11 and since then I've only had problems.

Thanks again

Marie

Hello Brucine

Thank you for your help.

Before trying, a quick question: given that I have many template types with mail merge fields, do I need to do the manipulation for all the template types? It might be a silly question...... But I've been struggling since I updated to Windows 11, everything is messed up, nothing works like it used to;

Well, I tried several times to manipulate by adding the switch after the merge field, with and without a space between them, but it doesn’t work...

You must of course modify each date field.

In the case that concerns us, we would have a field edited with ALT+F9 as:

{ MERGEFIELD MyDateField \@ "dd/MM/yyyy" }

and we should be able to visualize the output again with ALT+F9.

I have already done this manipulation in the past in Excel without any problem, but I don’t currently have any mail merge to work with as a test subject, and I formally do not know if it works from Access (which I do not have installed) especially 2010.

I believe I didn't put the right "/" .... I'll try again.

I kept Access 2010 because newer versions do not allow for replication with other workstations or with an external hard drive under Windows 11.

Hello again Brucine

The operation worked, thank you very much. All that’s left for me to do is to apply it to all my models unless we can add it directly in the date field of the Access database, I don't know.... I'm looking for it!

In the meantime, have a great weekend!

Marie

Hello,

That's great, have a nice weekend or long weekend for those who are concerned (yes, yes, there were already some who didn't have it before the prime minister got involved and who worked on public holidays, that was my case before my retirement).

Hello,

I'm not sure about what I'm going to say but it's something to check: could the document or part of the document have a language attribute other than Fr?

Hello Nain what's up!

No, I checked the language, it's definitely French.

But it could have been.

Thank you very much
