    Hello,

Do not forget that a thermometer only indicates its own temperature!

So if it is placed outside the computer, it will not be able to indicate the temperature of the components.

It is simpler to retrieve the temperatures from the sensors already installed inside the computer.

    Use HWiNFO https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

Take the free version and download from Local (U.S.). It is a zip file.
    You extract the executable HWiNFO64.exe

It works without installation. You will find the results under the Sensors tab.

What is well designed is eloquently stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

To my knowledge, there is nothing like the temperature of a PC itself, but only that of certain components.

We don't really know how the keys in question work and what utility they would carry to measure what, but the interest leaves me speechless; software utilities for these measurements undoubtedly exist, and some may allow exporting them and recording a history, and if the last point has any interest, they do not lack.

Note that outside of any utility, PowerShell makes it easy to measure the processor temperature and log it.

    Hello,

Thermometer to measure the PC temperature or ambient air temperature ???

For the PC you actually need to read the sensors of the components, no extra device needed.

      Hello,

I hadn’t thought of the first scenario but it escapes me even more.

In a professional environment there are probes connected to recording devices, all of which must be traceable, tamper-proof, and capable of sending alarms if the allowed range is exceeded and for how long; this is typically the case for professional medicine refrigerators and probably cold rooms in other fields.

But when moving around with the computer and measuring the ambient temperature there, where no one knows whether the measurement is certified and thus admissible, nor whether its approximate display is of any interest (what do I care if, due to weather or heating/cooling, it’s 18 or 35°C where I am and at home there are of course classic thermometers that are always "on"...)?
