Hello,

On a a significant drop in speed on a fixed 5G internet connection, with an external antenna, router and Ethernet distribution... I would like to get some explanations on the subject, how can this be explained..? Can we modify anything, improve it..?

-- Initially, this 5G router (NX510v.1) was in a big city for several months, with a fairly stable reception, around 450 meg in download.

-- With the summer season, it was moved 500 km to a smaller city... at the beginning of June. Initially, the reception was almost equally good, but for about a week now, the speed has at least been halved (around 200 meg).

-- During the SFR outage, there was a complete absence for 24 hours... then the return of the signal at around 60 meg... looking at the "Status," I can't understand what is wrong, the signal quality is at 100% in N78 etc..etc... here's a screenshot

Of course, the wish would be to regain the previous speeds... and/or to understand what the cause is..? And if it's possible to adjust any settings...?

This is not for gaming or streaming... The DATA usage is barely at 50%... The config has remained the same.

    Hello,

the charm of radio networks: a limited and shared resource regardless of the technology, the limitations are different, but they are always there.

Your router doesn't do bandwidth aggregation?

But well, it depends on what's available around, however it operates on 3.5 GHz, that's already something, at Free, there's often only 700 MHz.

In short, the problem is probably more about your neighbors.

And there you go, here it is ....

But goodness, interline spacing is so annoying!!

Hello to you and thank you for your response,

Yes, my router does aggregation, in fact, in my screenshot above, it receives the N78 band (3529mHz) and the B3 Band (1835mHz)

    Yes, I'm lucky to have a 100% signal on a 3.5gHz band...

.. Indeed, it's on the Atlantic coast, the population is starting to increase with the arrival of tourists; and some TF1 and Canal+ retransmission dishes mounted on semi-trailers.. that must consume a lot..?

-- But how can we see numeric indications among the values accessible in one of the router's pages.. ???

It contains a lot of things, but I don't understand everything..!

As far as I know, the 1800 band (B3) is only used for 4G, not for 5G, so it is not aggregated; you would need to get 700 or 2100 for that.

As for TF1 and Canal, I think they have their own satellite feeds, especially if they bring their dishes; they are not on the mobile network with that.

Yes, it does receive 3G, 4G, and 5G well... and makes the best synthesis; (it's me who translates by aggregation..!!)

For 5G in Band N78 3590-3570, it works

But in Band B3, indeed, it's 4G... so, can there be data aggregation after passing through the UHF to combine the received data..?

It should be noted that telephony functions during this time... (3G or 4G..??)

I looked at what exists at 900 meters on the "Cartoradio" tower, there is another 5G on freq. 2100... But no matter how much I try to switch to manual and enter this value, it displays correctly... and upon restarting the router, it returned to its previous settings.

        In 700, it's the N28 freq 703-733 and 778-788... But I'll check that tomorrow.

I don't think we can aggregate 4G (LTE-A) and 5G; you have to choose between LTE-A, which is sometimes faster, and 5G, especially if you don't have a 3500 antenna nearby.

    Thank you for your answers.

I searched in my 5G landscape, the 700 doesn't exist, but there is 2100.

I have an external directional antenna, oriented on the 120° beam of the tower which is just under 1000m away without obstacles... but at 21m high, it's not very tall... but the signal is received at 100%.

So there is 5G... 3500 N78 received on 3529 with a width of 80 mega
and also reported in 5G... 2100 B1 received on 2117 with a width of 15 mega and 1927 in upload.

The average nPerf reception is at 244 mega... latency 29... jitter 20 ms.

The past speed has indeed dropped, but that said, it still works pretty well. As you mentioned at the beginning, there must be many citizens sharing... on limited equipment during the summer... no more comments.

And there you go... the tourist season is ending; and I find my 5G internet speed around 400 meg on Nperf... it really confirms the sharing with the neighborhood and nothing else...

-- maybe SFR didn’t want to upgrade their equipment for just a two-month period...

-- I've noticed that sometimes the 4G connection was replacing the 5G, especially in August... it's slower; but it works

-- the lowest speed was around 35...40 mega, like VDSL

There you go, this is kind of a feedback experience...

    A+++

    Hello,

last measurement of 5G speed... just out of curiosity; and to show that the speed comes back when the tourists leave.

here is the download speed between 500 and 600 Mb/s

and the phone calls work at the same time

After this somewhat anxious period, I find that it's not bad at all.

    Enjoy your vacation...
