How to open PDF files that won’t open on Kindle?

Hello,

I downloaded PDF files from a site, which are not corrupted since I can read them perfectly on my phone applications (Adobe or Samsung Notes).

I tried to upload them to my Kindle. However, only 2 of them can be opened. For the rest of the files, this message is displayed:

"Unable to open the item, the selected item could not be opened. If you purchased this item from Amazon, delete the item and download it again from the Cloud from the home screen."

These are PDF files containing images. Are they too large? How can I remedy this and succeed in opening them on my Kindle?

Are we required to go through a file conversion (which I think would be ineffective from pdf to mobi)?

    Good evening,

    It is possible that the files are DRM protected and can only be read on the device they were downloaded on.

    Check with the software "Calibre" for example.
