Microsoft is currently providing an optional update for Windows 11, namely version KB5055627. This update includes numerous improvements and fixes for existing vulnerabilities, particularly an annoying malfunction affecting several users and known by the error code SECURE_KERNEL_ERROR. This bug causes frequent blue screens and can sometimes even prevent access to the system, but it has now been resolved. Other minor issues have also been addressed. Additionally, new features related to artificial intelligence have been introduced, specifically for Copilot+ branded PCs with NPU processors. Finally, despite the improvements made, Microsoft advises users to remain cautious. So, have you already switched to this new update or do you prefer to wait a little longer?

Hello,

This is something we were waiting for.

Among other notable new features, the Mobile Connected (Phone Link) function is now accessible directly from the Start menu. It displays recent calls, SMS, photos, and notifications from a connected smartphone, without needing to open the dedicated app of the same name.

The truth is quite different!

It's regrettable on Microsoft's part, not delivered on time!

To be continued ==► Mobile Connected on the Windows 11 Start menu version 24h2

I'm not the only one who reacted.

Unkept promise....

Even among beta testers (insiders), there are issues!

Will this option finally see the light of day?

I created and installed a Windows 11 image with this integrated update, then performed a sysprep on my PC. If everything works perfectly, the reset does not, as it stops with a failure message. There was no problem with the previous update.

So now we just have to wait for the next update, which I hope will solve this issue.

Hello,

Here’s something constructive...

Current PCs come with Windows 11, and a large number of Windows 10 PCs that are nearing extinction have been migrated to it.

Unless one wants to install Linux, which is not perfect either, the question is not about whether it's terrible or not, we have to deal with it.

The update in question is not classified as optional on my end.

If, because of past experiences, we were to avoid accepting any updates, including potential bugs, that would be quite difficult...

Regarding AI, and quite fortunately, my PC is not Copilot+ and the search is already set to be local only; if this scourge were to change the situation or impose itself, we could simply cut it off like has happened in the past (Cortana...), it's not a tragedy.

I confirm that this is indeed a "mandatory" update; the only optional one I had was for .NET Framework.

After being the guinea pig, of course, as usual, we end up losing 2 or 3 GB of disk space that is hard to recover.

I can't test for the absence of bugs that I didn't have; I skip all the Copilot innovations that I don't have, I haven't activated Connected Mobile, which is therefore absent from the start menu, and I don't use Narrator.

No malfunctions or apparent changes, except for the appearance of a Click Actions application (pre-release) that, when clicked, leads nowhere and whose purpose is unclear.

Another novelty is a ZTHELPER service reported as a read failure for everyone and installed at a low level (owned by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM).

It is related to the installation of a ZTDNS driver (ztdns.sys in System32).

This would be a network security feature currently experimental, so it remains to be seen in which upcoming version it will be enabled.
