How the archives box works

Hello,
I usually create folders in GMAIL.
For example, a folder "home", a folder "child", a folder "work", etc...
Once I have dealt with the email, I file it in one of these folders until the folder is closed and I delete the entire folder.
But the email also remains in the "archives" folder. If I delete it from archives, it also deletes it from the "home" folder.
How can I ensure that this is not the case, or even better, that no message is ever sent or received in the archive box?
My Gmail is filled with messages dating back 10 years...

It seems to me, but I might be wrong as I rarely use Gmail, that there are not actually folders but labels referring to the real folder which is that of the received emails.
In which case, there’s probably no solution if we are using Gmail.
except that in my "inbox" there is nothing because all my emails are sorted into my folders .... hence my question...
there must be a solution though otherwise everyone would be in my case :)
Again, I am not an expert in this matter.
What I referred to as a label is actually called a tag and is just a filter; if I delete this tag, I do not delete the original email wherever it is, but if I delete the original email wherever it is, I delete the tag.

People more knowledgeable than I am in this regard (which isn't hard) may have other suggestions, but one should remember that the capabilities of a webmail service are always quite limited and, of course, the problem would not exist if the Gmail address were retrieved in a traditional email client (Thunderbird or whatever).
