Gmail inbox flooded with undelivered "responses" to every email

I receive about 20 to 30 emails a day, but for the past 3 days I have been overwhelmed by "responses" from the Mail Delivery Subsystem that are attaching themselves to all my conversations in Gmail, and I can't delete them (otherwise it will also delete the authentic email that I want to keep...). Their main text is:

"Your message could not be delivered to pop.alerte@gmail.com. Their inbox is full or they are currently receiving too many messages." followed by a whole bunch of little notifications in English that repeat the previous email....

Of course, I don't know who this pop.alerte is... I'm afraid of a virus, how can I get rid of it?
I've already tried deleting hundreds of emails to lighten my inbox but anyway my Gmail account is not "full" (I only use 23% of its capacity)
Thank you for helping me!

If you send emails to a person whose inbox is full, you receive this kind of message:

"Your message could not be delivered to pop.alerte@gmail.com. Their inbox is full or they are currently receiving too many messages.

Of course, your PC can also be in zombie mode and sending emails by itself to thousands of people.

You should check the sent items box and not the incoming one to see what is really going out.
