How can we colorize an SRT file (originally black and white)?

Hello,

With a text editor:
Original:
1
00:00:12,860 --> 00:00:20,140
Hello

Line 1 colored yellow:
1
00:00:12,860 --> 00:00:20,140
Hello

More simply with a subtitle editor

For example Subtitle Edit (free and open source) https://www.nikse.dk/
Select all lines / Right-click / Color

Or without modifying the file, for example with VLC:

You can choose the color of subtitle display
Tools/Preferences/Subtitles/Default text color.

Have a good Sunday

Correlation of games and international strategies:
The Chinese play Go, the Russians play chess, the Americans play poker and the Europeans play tic-tac-toe.

Hello hipothetix.

I’ve received your email from this morning, I’ve put it into practice (using the tools/preferences/subtitles/colors of the VLC application)... and it works very well.

I’ve also noted how you can color several subtitles in different colors, with Hello, for example, within the same .srt file (and that also works).

I’ve also noted the Subtitle Edit application which will be useful to me eventually.

As they say, better one who knows than ten who are looking!

For all this information as well as the speed and clarity of the response, I send you my warmest and sincerest thanks. Here is a typical example where this forum has been most useful to me. Thank you!!!
