External hard drive recognized but inaccessible

Hello,

I have one of my external hard drives that is recognized by my computer but is no longer accessible;

I checked the connections and tried a few manipulations but nothing works, I still get an error message...

I just started a error check: I have several lines with "file record segments... unreadable" appearing

I hesitate to format it because I'm afraid of losing everything that's on it

If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears

Thank you

    Hello and thank you,

    that's what is in progress...

for now, I'm getting this kind of message over dozens of lines:

"Insufficient disk space to replace damaged clusters"

I conclude that the mechanism and the electronics are still functioning, but the platters are worn out.
The read head undergoes too much movement for writing/reading and slows down the PC.

it's clear that this hdd is at the end of its life given the information that chkdsk indicated during the recovery attempt

    what does crystaldisk say?

Although this HDD seems young considering its operating hours, it turns out to be worn out.

Unless someone did a "low level format" hoping to restore its youth in order to sell it.

Note: CrystalDI displays the results in decimal values by adjusting the settings under "raw values."

I bought it new in 2021...

Is there a way to recover everything that's on it? Because that's mainly what's bothering me: not having access to everything stored on it.

    Alright, thanks for the info

For the support, can it be another external drive? (because my computer doesn't have enough space)
