good evening
I can't find my microphone in the permission settings
all sites are allowed etc. but the microphone is not supported on Firefox or set by default
anyway, I don't know what it uses by default, one thing is for sure, it's not my microphone, nothing happens when I do a voice search on Google
however, no issues on Chrome or Edge, how can I fix this for Firefox? please thank you
see you soon

good evening
I've seen this already before posting here, where's the microphone? for example, Turtle Beach
in their example we see nothing, we can't choose anything, just allow or not allow the sites, but that's not the problem... do you understand?
Hello,
Is it enabled in the Privacy Settings options of Windows?
Hi fabul
The microphone privacy settings menu seems to indicate it's activated
Firefox does not appear in the list of apps, nor does Chrome or Edge, but both of them work fine, so I'm wondering what device Firefox is really using in 2025; they can't seem to get their app right...
In the chapter:
"Use the Page Info window to change camera or microphone permissions"
https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/gerer-permissions-camera-et-microphone#w_modifier-les-permissions-de-microphone
Hello
FF can't manage to get their app right?
Well, actually, it's not a Windows app but an independent program with its own engine, which existed before we installed it on Windows. It doesn't appear in Windows.
So, the adjustments are made in Firefox like in the photos from MPMP10, it's simple if we tell you.
Hello
-Usually, Windows has multimedia feature packs with individual settings depending on the sources; Firefox (or the browser) is normally considered a source by Windows with a volume slider to adjust compared to other sources in the Windows volume mixer in the taskbar. (There is also the volume control, for example, in the video player on the site displayed on the page.)
-And it's no surprise that Chrome and Edge often work the same way because Edge has taken Chrome's base of Chromium developed in free code before. (Chromium is an open-source web browser project developed by Google)

Re
In looking around a bit, I wasn't aware of the existence of the problem and there's still one link missing:
I found that there was an adjustment issue with the sound volumes apparently at the Windows input, because Chromium, once again, had made an extension module in the meantime, and then Windows and Google tried to work together to integrate Edge and Chromium... but apparently not the others, and this was still back in the Win 10 era, still unresolved. There were indeed still sliders at the input of the Windows mixer but Microsoft would push to modify within the engine itself integrated into Windows apparently. The goal of Microsoft is that instead of the browser appearing as a single entry in this mixer, each tab that plays sound appears as an individual adjustable entry; and at the same time, Google is also looking to transform websites into Progressive Web Apps focusing mainly on the image and display, but the sound volume, what about that?

ok yes mixing at full everywhere I corrected some stuff that was by default input/output well configured now but it changes nothing etc... then sound panel config my mic properties level and advanced statistics channel 2 24bits 192000 etc... all done I think but indeed the mic test is weak photo but apparently it's enough for chrome and edge but not firefox
well I wasn't wrong firefox is crap for audio and video it's not a big deal but they should have warned us.
I have to stick to the mic for it to work properly can't make a good app these amateur developers I know one who’s going to say what again?! xD
OK thanks everyone firefox still has work to do
Hello
There is still one common point: when everything works, it's Google everywhere.
"When I do a voice search on Google," well, that also needs Google.
When it comes to "voice" commands, without dwelling on it, there were settings present in Windows to make it work, and probably permissions granted to Google upon installation or when opening Chromium-based browsers.
Even if Google is present when we install Firefox as a search engine, we can simply remove it, and there must be quite a few permissions with Google that are automatic with a Chromium installation. Firefox is especially rich in blocking and restrictions at first glance.
It's worth digging into this rather than once.
Without any precise knowledge of Firefox or Windows apps and no preconceived notions for or against anything at all, just shared the information found for the question since he isn't a gamer and his PC is turned off, no more ideas for the moment. Pragmatic, if it works with 2 browsers for this game, and there are at least 3 other Chromium-based ones, let's play.
I have a gift for getting into computer problems like pilot bugs, etc... They should hire me as a tester, the Pierre Richard of computing xD
