Hello,
do you know how to get Google to display instead of a blank page in Firefox 5?
Please don't suggest extensions that only slow down and bug Firefox, I think there must be something to do in about:config, right?
Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 5.0.1

Good evening
I know you didn't want an extension, but this one is functional; I just tested it, and I don't notice any slowdown
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/newtaburl/
then you need to go to tools/add-ons/right-click on new tab url/options/check the url box and set it to Google
regarding adblock, I have it, and I don't think it poses a problem
a signature..uh ..Boo?-
If you have Firefox and want to add GOOGLE to the tabs instead of having a blank page, it's very simple follow the steps below:
1 - Open a Google page
2 - At the top in the address bar, type: about:config and click on the small window that appears right after: "I promise to be careful"
3 - At the top in the search bar, you need to type: browser.newtab.url
4 - Double-click on the line: browser.newtab.url
5 - Delete everything and replace it with: http://www.google.fr
6 - Click: OK
7 - Open one or several tabs, and normally you should have Google in the new tabs!!
8 - So....? Does it work?? ^^ -
