RAV ENDPOINT PROTECTION detects PUP NORTON ASK SEARCH

Hello,
due to the installation of the new box, the printer was no longer working from the computer. An extremely novice relative in computing
downloaded RAV ENDPOINT PROTECTION without any particular reason. I specify that the computer is "protected" by AVG.
The printer is working correctly now, but can RAV ENDPOINT PROTECTION pose any danger?
It detected PUP NORTON ASK SEARCH.
Is this a danger? What should be done?
Thank you for any response!

Hello @DRONE_DU_COLLECTIF StatusMember.
ASK is simply a search engine that installs through free software, nothing too serious.
RAV endpoint protection is a pseudo antivirus that most often installs without the user's knowledge, this antivirus should be avoided as it will find anything and everything, the goal being to scare you into purchasing the paid version of RAV, uninstall it see this page.
Once RAV is uninstalled, if you want me to check your PC, follow these steps:
Download FRST.
Once downloaded, save it to your desktop then right-click on FRST and choose Run as administrator, you will see this:
Wait for the message the tool is ready to run to display, then click on Scan
Attention, wait for the messages indicating that the scan is complete to display.
At the end of the scan, you will have two text files on your desktop: FRST and Addition.
Then send the FRST and ADDITION reports to https://www.cjoint.com/ or to https://pixeldrain.com/.
Then provide the two links generated by https://www.cjoint.com/ or https://pixeldrain.com/ in your response.
