Hello,
I'm looking to connect my headphones to the Orange UHD TV decoder. There was an audio output on my old TV decoder TV4, which is no longer available on the UHD TV.
Orange sold me a USB-C to jack audio adapter, but it doesn't work. Is there a solution by connecting to the S/PDIF output?
I need to be able to listen to the sound on both the TV AND the decoder.

Indeed, the audio output on the Orange UHD TV decoder can be problematic because, unlike the old decoder (TV4), there is no 3.5mm jack output. The USB-C to jack audio adapter doesn't seem to work either, probably due to compatibility issues.
However, it is still possible to use the S/PDIF digital audio output from the decoder. However, you will need a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) to convert the digital signal into an analog signal for your headphones. Once connected, the DAC must be plugged into the jack of your headphones.
It should be noted that the S/PDIF output does not allow you to independently adjust the volume of the decoder and the television. The sound will always be transmitted simultaneously to both the TV and the headphones.
So, to answer your question, yes, it is indeed possible to connect your headphones to the S/PDIF output of the Orange UHD TV decoder, but an upgrade to your equipment will be necessary (the purchase of a DAC).
