Connection on TV (audio jack to TV optical input)

Hello,

My parents have headphones (I assume Bluetooth) to watch TV.
From the headphone box, I have a cable with a male audio jack output.
But my TV does not accept an input with this audio jack.
However, it does have an "optical" input (highlighted in red in the photo). In the audio preferences of the TV sound, I have 2 options: speaker or optical.

=> How can I connect to this optical connector? What adapter should I get?

Otherwise, there are also some more classic audio jacks (highlighted in blue in the photo). I have the cable adapter from my audio jack to the two red and white outputs, but regarding the TV settings, I don’t see the option for this choice, so I don’t know what it’s for. Is it an audio output (and not an input)?

Thank you for your responses.
Best regards,
Mat

Hello,
The connections highlighted in blue are inputs (AVIN) for the television.
If there is only one optical output, you will need an Optical IN / 3.5mm jack out converter.
What are the references (Brand and model):
- of the television?
- of the headset?
This is to find the most suitable converter for these devices.

Thank you for your response (yes, I understood that RCA jacks = input).
I will gather information and get back to the forum to provide these details on the TV and headphone models.
So my parents are also asking me: is it possible to listen to the sound on the speakers and at the same time on the audio headphones? In the TV's audio settings, I can only choose one or the other (Speakers or Optical).
I don't see how that's possible.
Before, they had a Canal Plus box and apparently, by using this box, it was possible.

Re-hello,
Here are the details:

TV: Samsung QE50Q60TAUxxc
I found this:

And the headphones: SENNHEISER TR4200
I found this:

(3.5mm stereo XLR audio connector)

However, I read some comments saying that the volume was not adjustable?!! :(
Do you have an opinion on this?
Are there converters that allow you to adjust the volume if that's the case?

I saw this one:

The headsets have their own volume control
So there’s no need for a control on the converter, but why not.
As for the television speakers... Using the optical output doesn't affect the sound from the television... however, if you want, you can mute the sound on the speakers.

Supplementary question: who provides the image to the television?
A decoder, a TV box?
These devices also have audio outputs, which can be used just like the TV’s.

Hello and thank you for this explanation. I'll test it to try to get the sound on the speakers + on the headset and see if it works as soon as I buy the converter.

So basically all the converters I linked are good?
Aren't there any better ones for my needs?
Should I just get the cheapest one?

The image (and sound) come from a Freebox. We checked and we can't plug anything into it.

Um...? Generally, there is always an audio output (optical or coaxial) on TV boxes.
What model is this Freebox TV or Free player?

Good evening, this concerns the payment for the Freebox Pop.
So I searched online and it seems that it is possible to connect to an SPDIF port. I will look into what that corresponds to, I don't know.
So what do you advise me?

The S/PDIF output of the Freebox Pop player is an optical audio output.
So you can connect your headphones either to the TV output or to the Pop player output using the same type of converter...

There is probably something to do in the player menu as well.

There is indeed a conversation to set the optical digital output of the POP player (S/PDIF) to PCM
