Hello,
We can't respond to that... You need to know a minimum of things... otherwise a crystal ball will do.
-- What is this Iomega..?? model... Internal/external.. USB or eSATA.. wifi etc..
-- Since it was working on the old PC... Brand, model, and version of Windows
-- Since you want to connect it to the new one, brand, model, and version of Windows of this new PC or its motherboard
-- Exact text of the error messages..??

Good evening Jeannets, my old PC was an ASUS Windows 10.
New PC Windows 11 ASUS model LAPTOP
External Iomega I note what I found on this one PN 31763600
model LDH-UP. I no longer have the references for the old PC.
Thank you, best regards PINPIN 94

Was the old PC a tower or a laptop..?
For the new ASUS, there should be a model number written underneath.. like UX6404 for example.
For the Iomega, that's the serial number, not the model..
Are there any lights that come on..?? -- any noises..?? are you using a USB cable...? is it a USB with Data (4 wires) instead of 2 that only charge.
Is it the Iomega cable..?
Does it appear in the BIOS..??

Jeannets, thank you for your response, on the underside of the ASUS there are several numbers,
R409JA-EB1788W : SN: N3N0CX13V13510C
Iomega: when turning it on, a light comes on and we hear a small humming.
The cable is the one provided with the device
I don't know about the BIOS, I am 79 years old and have worked a lot on the computer for 20 years but I don't know all the tricks. Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely, PINPIN 94

Yes, that is the model R409JA-EB1788W
I fear this IOmega does not have enough power to operate, especially since laptop USB ports are a bit stingy with current...
This is confirmed by listening closely to the noise of the disk in the first 15 seconds after startup... It starts, searches a bit, then after 5 seconds, it stops; the light stays on, but the motor no longer spins...
The best way to listen to this is with a stethoscope... otherwise, a beer glass pressed against the disk with your ear on the bottom of the glass... a screwdriver can also work, with the handle against your ear.
-- Otherwise, we can also use a powered USB hub, which provides power to the disk...
Or a double USB "Y" adapter, like this
https://www.latelierducable.com/cable/cable-usb/le-cable-usb-double-ou-en-y-pourquoi-faire/
it uses two USB plugs on the PC and one on the disk with the right format.
--- It should also be possible to disassemble the disk from its enclosure... remove the internal USB adapter... and install this disk internally in another PC (preferably a tower) to read its contents...
-- Beyond that, we will have to face the truth that this disk is dead... Requiem.

Jeannets, thank you for the information, my son knows more about computers than I do. Best regards PINPIN 94

Hello, Jeannets, my son solved the problem in 2 minutes, the Iomega was plugged into a USB power strip, my son plugged the USB plug of the Iomega directly into the PC and there you go, it's working wonderfully. Thank you for your information, see you soon on the site. PINPIN 94.

Yet, I had told you about the lack of power on the USBs... and a power strip implies sharing... 50%...50%
Anyway... Thank you for your feedback, it's always informative.
See you+++
