Hello,
My external hard drive is not recognized on my Mac but it is on PC.
I can hear it struggling when it spins and it eventually stops and turns off, which does not happen on PC. I tried restarting NTFS and plugging it into different USB ports on the Mac but nothing works.
Does anyone know where the problem might be? And how to fix it?

Configuration: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) / Firefox 24.0

Hello,
Your hard drive is in NTFS format, so it will not be compatible.
