Hisense 40A5KQ TV video files playback via USB drive

Hello,

I recently bought a Hisense 40A5KQ 2023 TV.

I regularly plug a USB stick containing video files (MP4 MKV ...) directly into the TV.

For the first 10 days, there were no issues and the videos played without a problem.

After about ten days, without having touched anything, the TV systematically displays "File not recognized" regardless of the file format. This includes a video file that worked well the day before!

I tried formatting the USB stick to NTFS and then to exFAT and put different files on it, but it still shows that the format is not recognized...

I tried plugging in an external hard drive instead of the USB stick, same issue...

What should I do? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Thank you very much everyone for your help. I bought another 32 GB USB drive only ... and it worked!

    It seems that the TV no longer accepts ex-fat / NTFS formats but only the old FAT32 format? Surprising for a new, recent, and supposedly smart TV!

    That said, I still don't understand why it worked for the first 10 days with my 128 GB USB drive, and suddenly it stopped working ... anyway, it doesn't matter now, it works and that's the main thing!

      Strange, I tend to think it’s a faulty USB drive; I bought my Hisense TV on November 21, 2023, and it accepts NTFS without any issues!

    I tried connecting an external hard drive instead of the USB key, same thing...

    Have you tried with another USB key?

    Just to clarify: the key is recognized, and the files are displayed in the TV's explorer.

    Try this via the menu:

    Settings > System > Content Streaming Settings > Clear Cache...

    I'm basing this on my own Hisense...

    Also, when your TV is in standby, unplug the power cord, wait 60 seconds before plugging it back in, then try the USB key again.

    If not, as a last resort, consider resetting the TV or asking the store where you bought the TV or also check with Hisense support.

    ...and have you formatted it to FAT32?

      Hello and thank you for your reply.

      It is impossible to format the USB drive to FAT32, as the USB drive is larger than 32GB. Do you think it could work with a FAT32 USB drive?

      Just to clarify: the drive is recognized, and the files are displayed in the TV's explorer. It's when I try to launch them that it doesn't work.

    Hello,

    Which USB port are you using?

    It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it's not there...

        The physical position of the USB ports doesn't matter... However, this TV, unless I'm mistaken, has 3 USB ports (2x 0.5A) and 1 USB C (1 A max)

        Excerpt from the manual:

        I only have 2 "regular" USB ports on the TV. I tried both and unfortunately, neither of them works :(

        I couldn't try the USB C since my flash drive is a regular USB
