Hello,

Until now, I was transferring my photos from my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro to my PC. Since yesterday, my smartphone is no longer recognized by my PC. After extensive searching in my Xiaomi settings, I noticed that "USB tethering" was not enabled. And I can't enable it. What is preventing this activation? Thank you for your help. JAA

    Hello.

Try connecting your phone to your PC with another USB cable.

    Hello,

I've already tried with 2 other USB cables. To no avail!

    Hello,

I no longer use tethering; I switch to the much faster Wi-Fi. Try this free app for Android... Photo Transfer App.

    Hello,

I just installed the app on my smartphone. The app is asking for my credit card number. I'm skeptical. What should I do? Thank you!

The app is free, but if you want its paid version, the request is legitimate. It's up to you to decide.

    Oh yes! I understood.

I managed to transfer the photos. 10 photos at a time, it's quite tedious but it works! However, I don't know how to transfer the videos.

I have never used it for videos. Go through a USB-C cable instead (I suppose this is the right cable?).

New problem. I was able to view the first 10 transferred photos. But not the following ones. They were transferred with the extension: .crdownload. What is the solution to open them?

      On your PC?

If they were transferred, you should be able to open them.

Hello, don't confuse "connection sharing" and file transfer.

Connection sharing is to allow your computer to access the internet using the 4G from your mobile phone, for example.

I made several download attempts. The Opera software is downloading. Or else it's the Geek's journal that appears. I'm lost....

      also try

in the search for parameters, type "file sharing" and see if it suggests anything similar.

I finally managed to download the software MI PC SUITE. Unfortunately, the page displays: "No devices connected".

Me, on mine, when I plug a USB cable between the phone and the pc, a message appears on the phone screen, by tapping on it it redirects to the file sharing where we find different settings.

In the settings of my phone, I was finally able to activate "USB tethering" in "connection sharing". My phone is finally recognized by my PC. The problem seems to be resolved, after hundreds of attempts.
Thank you all for your help.

      Ok, good to know.

I have that on mine too in addition to "file transfer", in the end both work.

Well! This morning, another disappointment! My configuration has disappeared. And I can't find the procedure I had followed. Back to square one! :'(

Once this Xiaomi software is installed, it displays: "connect your device via USB". Once the cable is plugged in, nothing happens. (:-((

      Hello,

Are you using your smartphone's USB cable properly?

Check if your motherboard drivers are up to date by visiting the manufacturer's website for your PC.

    Yes.

I have transferred photos to my PC without any problems for several years. I don't understand.

I checked the drivers. Everything is fine. By the way, I was able to restore the situation for one evening. Why did I lose my new configuration? A mystery.

I had reestablished the ability to transfer photos and videos as follows:

In my settings: "Additional settings," "Developer options," "USB debugging" enabled, "Install via USB" enabled, and in "Default USB configuration," I alternately enabled "File transfer" and "Transfer photos (PTP)." Nothing works!!!

at the bottom of "developer options," you have reset to default values.

      you can try that eventually.

I know!!! I’ve been thinking about changing my phone for a while. So that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to transfer everything I have on my phone to the new one. Will I be able to do that considering that my new phone won’t have a SIM card yet?

...and you’re thinking of treating yourself to which one?
