How to turn off just the screen of my laptop using the keyboard?

Hello everyone,

My previous laptop (an ACER Aspire) was very convenient for simply turning off the screen: I just had to press fn+F4 on the keyboard. I had gotten used to doing this very often.

My new PC (an HP 17-cp3000nf) running Windows 11 does not allow for this.

I know I can set the screen to turn off after 1 minute of inactivity using the Windows Settings. However, when I'm listening to music or a show on a Windows player, for example, even after 1 minute the screen does not turn off: it is considered that I am still active.

Is there a keyboard solution to turn off the screen on demand while listening to music on the PC, for example?

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much, I followed the procedure and it actually works.

There's just one thing I'm wondering, does this procedure actually turn off the screen or does it just make a black screen appear? It's not clear, so to speak. :-D

    Hi,

Another idea, if you lock your PC (Windows + L), I think the screen should turn off by itself after the set time.

    Best regards.
