Hello,
It has now been 10 days that I have been trying, albeit with difficulty, to reinstall Windows 10 on my Lenovo IdeaPad 330-17AST 17.3" AMD A6 8 Go RAM 1 To HDD laptop and here is the problem:
During the installation, everything goes well until the last step when this message appears: "Windows was unable to prepare the computer to boot in the next phase of installation." and asks me to restart my installation..
You should know that this PC does not seem to support the latest update of Windows 10 and still performs it automatically until the fateful moment when it restarts and gives me a blue screen.
The Recovery mode fails, resetting the PC fails, uninstalling updates fails, in short, the total!
I have tried to install Windows 11 and 7 in vain... Before launching the OS installation, I formatted the partitions, I also merged them to have one main one and it still doesn’t work, the system outright informs me that a file may be missing or damaged.
I asked a colleague to install the "MediCat" tool on a USB stick (32 Gb) to find out where the problem lies and apparently from what I saw there is "no" problem.
I tried installing Windows in Legacy Support mode I believe and still nothing, I also looked for a "Backup" to download onto a stick to see how the PC reacts and found nothing.
This is not the first time this has happened with this PC but it is the first time that nothing works.
As I speak to you, I am awaiting a response/help from you in order to at least understand what problems this PC has and I thank you in advance.
- Windows 10 Installation "We couldn't create a partition"
- The application failed to start correctly (0xc000007b)
- "We could not connect to this network."
- ReadyBoost is not enabled because the computer is too fast...
- Error "we couldn't complete the updates" Windows 10.
- Wi-Fi: "We couldn't connect to this network"

Hello,
Your disk may have bad sectors.
+++ HD_tune test disk
So you download HD_tune here https://www.hdtune.com/files/hdtune_255.exe and install it on your PC... You run the tests "Benchmark... Health... Error Scan" one after the other, take a screenshot of each window...the floppy disk icon is there for that... and post these images on the site "cjoint.com" not forgetting to paste the link of each one here..
Be careful, the last one can be very long (all night) depending on the capacity of the disk
If your Windows is not working, you can remove the disk from this PC to place it as a secondary one on another functioning PC to be able to run this test..
The goal is to know if the disk has defects or not..?
Well, I would have liked to be able to perform this operation, but it's impossible for me because I don't have access to anything on my PC. I start it up, either it boots from the USB key or it goes to the boot menu.
Several hypotheses: either your BIOS is not configured for UEFI with secure boot, or there is a failure in the memory stick or the hard drive. If I'm not mistaken, you have only 4 GB of RAM?
These PCs can boot from a live CD or live DVD or bootable USB, so the possibilities are plentiful...
Moreover, it is still possible to test the hard drive on another PC as I explained earlier.
So if we want to start troubleshooting, it's doable...
Here is an explanatory site with what you need to burn onto the CD or USB
