Hello

I have a Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 330, I'm trying to boot a USB drive to install W10 but my USB drive is not recognized in the BIOS

It is functional, my PC detects it

Thank you
Have a nice day

    Hello,

    Try another USB port

Try the Boot Menu instead of the BIOS

    Hello

The second USB doesn't work and nothing shows up in the boot menu.

Your BIOS may allow you to Disable or Enable Boot (Startup) from an external USB device, etc.

Is your BIOS up to date?

Is the drive indeed in GPT for EFI?

    Hello

The USB drive is indeed recognized in GPT

BIOS is up to date, it’s from 2023

What I did was format it via the command prompt, even though I disable "secure boot", the drive is not recognized

Hello, is the USB key formatted in FAT32? I had the same problem, simply because it was formatted in NTFS instead of FAT32. And I also think there’s something about size, 32 GB max. If your USB key is 64 GB, you need to partition it and create a partition of 32 GB max in FAT32.

      Hello

It's properly formatted in FAT 32, it's the drive I use when I format my PCs.

Try resetting all the BIOS settings to default. Otherwise, try using another USB key?

What you can also do: delete all partitions on the USB key from the disk manager, recreate a partition in FAT32, and add the W10 installation files.

      Also try using Rufus.

I just did it with another formatted key, etc., the same

Whether I disable secure boot or not, it's the same

Are you tapping F12 or Fn+F12 when you start the computer?

He recognizes the key, but there is an error message when I click on the ISO:

"no boot file found for UEFI, maybe the image does not support x64 UEFI"

I have disabled secure boot in the BIOS; if it is enabled, it asks me to disable it

I took the W10x64 ISO with the Microsoft tools: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

With Ventoy, have you checked in Options that the drive is in GPT + Secure Boot Support if you reactivate it in the BIOS?

      What I tried:

With Ventoy I checked secure boot + GPT partition, then I went into the BIOS to enable secure boot, and it shows me 2 errors:

"Default boot device missing or boot failed.
Insert Recovery media and hit any key"

"EFI USB Device (USB mass storage driver) has been blocked by the current security policy"

If I keep the same configuration with Ventoy but disable secure boot in the BIOS, the same error message appears:

"no boot file found for UEFI maybe the image does not support x64 UEFI"

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With Ventoy I unchecked secure boot + kept the GPT partition, I went into the BIOS and disabled secure boot: it shows me:

"no boot file found for UEFI maybe the image does not support x64 UEFI"

If I keep the same configuration with Ventoy but enable secure boot in the BIOS:

"Default boot device missing or boot failed.
Insert Recovery media and hit any key"

"EFI USB Device (USB mass storage driver) has been blocked by the current security policy"

It’s never-ending... There's always something that gets in the way

      thank you

      Hello

      I've made some progress ^^

I incorrectly noted the model of the tablet in my first post "Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300-10IBY"

Only x86 OS detects the USB key, so I chose W10 x86, and I got a nice error message when trying to select the main partition that says:

"Windows cannot install to the selected location. Check your media drive. Here are additional details about what happened. Error: 0x80300001

After researching, it seems I need to download the storage or RAID drivers, but none of them work..

      I found the drivers: https://driverpack.io/en/laptops/lenovo/miix-300-10iby

On the site, I don't see the storage or RAID driver, but I tested them all anyway..
