SIM card causes the phone to restart

Hello everyone,

I have a Huawei Nova 5T that is experiencing a SIM card issue.

As soon as a SIM card is inserted into slot 1 or 2, the phone restarts after entering the PIN code. This happens with any other SIM card I've tried.

However, when there is no card, the phone works fine, connects to Wi-Fi, etc.

Any idea what the problem could be? I had left my phone for repair to change the main microphone which was broken, but the phone was off at that time. Could it be a short circuit? I haven't installed any apps or updates recently.

Thank you in advance!

Hello

Clearly a hardware defect following the repair.

Best regards

A hardware defect? Would that mean that the installed part is not the right one? Or a defect on the part itself?

Because the phone worked for a few minutes in SIM2 slot before restarting in a loop, and I made a call to test the microphone and it worked very well.

I don't want to reset the phone for nothing because I don't have a backup (photos, texts, apps), especially if the problem persists, and since it appeared after the intervention, I don't think it's a software issue.

Thanks again :)

Check with the repairman, he may have misconnected the SIM card reader.

Thank you! But he hasn't found the solution; he doesn't understand where the problem comes from, and apparently he hasn't touched the SIM slot which is located at the top of the phone; the replaced microphone is at the bottom...

If he didn't find the solution while having the phone in hand, for me who is at a distance, apart from making assumptions, it will be difficult to tell you more.

What the repairman is telling you is still surprising given that this problem occurred after the repair and therefore following the disassembly of the phone.

Yes, it's for sure that with the phone in hand he should find the failure.

There must have been something wrong at the time of the part replacement. I'll keep you updated on how it goes!

Here’s the news! So it was indeed the faulty part. After replacement, everything is working. Thanks for the advice!

Hello, I'm experiencing the same problem as you with my Xiaomi, but it happened overnight for me.

Which part did you change?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

As stated in my message No. 3, it is the SIM card reader.
