Add widgets to the home screen

Hello,
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and transferred the data from my S6 with Smart Switch.
Almost everything works well although I had to enter several passwords, codes, ...
I can find my apps in Settings < Apps and I can launch them from there
but only a few are accessible directly from the home screen.
How can I add the missing app widgets (or shortcuts) to the home screen?
Thank you in advance for your help
- how to remove the menu shortcut from the home screen?
- appearance of a maintenance key on Samsung S5 screen > sm-g800F
- Blue circle when I touch the screen of my S10
- Unwanted shortcut on the screen
- The screen on my Samsung tablet won't rotate anymore, I want to fix it.
- how to set the time in the location of my case

Hello,
As far as I remember, there are two possible modes on Android: either all the apps are on the home screen(s) (swipe your finger to the right or left and also check in the groups).
Or with the app drawer, usually accessible by swiping your finger up from the bottom of the screen. And from this screen, by long pressing, you can drag the apps to the home screen.
Best regards.
Hello,
I will quickly explain the organization principle.
1) The homepage is actually made up of several screens that can be swiped from right to left.
2) What you get by swiping up is the "applications drawer". All installed applications are represented there, displayed in alphabetical order.
3) The idea is to keep only the apps that are used frequently on the homepage. You can organize them by categories since you have multiple screens. There’s no point in overcrowding the home screens if you want the smartphone to remain easy to use.
To add an icon to the home screen, go to the applications drawer and press and hold the icon to drag a copy to the home screen.
You can delete an icon from the home screen; it will still be present in the "drawer."
On the home page, you can group icons by placing them on top of each other to create a folder that you can rename: for example, all the Google apps. It’s a useful feature that doesn’t exist on Windows.
4) For widgets, long press on a home screen in an area without an icon. An icon will appear at the bottom of the screen giving access to the list of widgets. With a long press, you can drag the widget to a home screen.
What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.

Thank you, that's the solution.
On the home screen, I only have a few apps; I don't know why those ones and not the others.
By sliding the screen up, I can see all of them.
Simply to allow for organization and not overload the home screen. There are plenty of system apps or others that you probably have no use for.
And it's just shortcuts; Widgets are another type of objects (often dynamic ones like weather, clocks...) that you can add by long-pressing on a free space on the home screen.
I wanted to say that on the home screen of my S6, I had all the apps I regularly need.
They were successfully transferred by Smart Switch, some with shortcuts on the home screen, others not. I don't know why, but it's sorted out now, thanks again.
Read my message <6>.
You will understand that Smart Switch transfers the apps (they are in the App Drawer), but leaves it up to you to organize your home screens as you see fit.
I assume that the apps already installed on the home screen are the ones traditionally found there: camera, Gallery, Mail, Play Store, Phone, Contacts, etc.
As for the rest, it's up to you to decide.
A ok, so yes it's probably what Pierr10 explained.
