Hello,

My desktop PC is stuck in the BIOS menu, and I can't boot the OS.

I removed the motherboard battery, replaced it, updated the BIOS, and nothing works; I'm still stuck in the BIOS.

My configuration:

MSI B550 gaming plus motherboard

Ryzen 7 5800X processor

Windows 10 OS

All components seem to be recognized: RAM sticks, hard drive, ...

Ok, two cases almost cover 100% of the scenarios you describe:

The boot order has been changed in the BIOS and it no longer points to the correct disk to boot, and if it goes directly into the BIOS, then none in fact.

The other case is that the boot type has been changed (Legacy/CSM to UEFI with secure boot), especially under Windows 10, it may be that your HDD is in MBR format and the UEFI BIOS only works with GPT for booting. This transition from Legacy to UEFI has been standardized in recent BIOS versions by manufacturers for the transition to Windows 11 where UEFI mode is mandatory. So if you have updated your BIOS, you are automatically in UEFI now.

Thank you for your response, does that mean I have to switch back to "legacy" mode?

I did as you said, but now I'm having issues with unexpected restarts.

I switched back to CSM mode.

    Hello

Was the PC assembled with the problem from the start, or did it run normally at some point?

It was working normally until now.

It seems to have worked, I switched to CSM boot mode.

But I had two unexpected restarts. For now, it seems stable.

I’m posting from the PC that was down.

    Thank you for your help.

So in summary, in UEFI it takes you directly to the BIOS, and in CSM it works but the PC reboots for no reason?
